Just wanted to contribute the point that if all of you are struggling so much to remove every last little bit of smegma... perhaps try to worry about it less. It seems that having a little bit of smegma on your penis head is perfectly normal and healthy... I'd suggest washing it with a shower but don't get the scrub brush and drain cleaner out....
In other words, give it the same kind of clean you'd give any other part of your body (or only slightly more thorough) but don't worry if your penis isn't left 100% immaculate because by the sounds of it, it's the same for everybody and so everybody your prospective partners will have ever been with is likely to be the same. Be clean but don't let it worry you :).
P.S. all these very young guys with non-retractable foreskin or sensitive penis heads, don't worry, that's perfectly normal, retract it gradually over time (don't force it at all). The sensitivity level should hopefully go down over time too as you touch/expose it more, just don't worry yourself about it and take your time.
Please answer! I'm really freaking out... :/
OK this issue is very touchy subject, and all guys have to deal with it. Best method thats not only pain free but sooths a sore penis. Is simple, get a bowl of warm water, NOT hot, cuz your tip is real sensitive to that. put about 3-4Table spoons of baking soda in there, and stir. Now find a level place to set the bowl and let your penis soak about 15 min, all the while using your thumb to gently massage under your tip to remove the smegma. Repeat if you have a really bad case or rough spots. I had a really bad case when i was in my 20s, Not even knowing what smegma was and what was this crust on my penis, thinking it was a STD!!! ive been smegma free basicly since, I wash my penis this way about once or twice a week, as daily in teh shower and avoid cronic masterbation and youll be good.
BTW Baking soda is safe to use on your skin, same with hydrogene peroxide, but I found soaking in warm water and baking soda to be the most effective, I mean within days its gone sorta effective. I even noticed white flakes floating in the water just after letting it soak for 10 min the first time I did it. The results are pretty quick.
Just wanted to thank everyone else who posted on this topic; been dealing with the smegma for a while now myself (I'm in my early-mid twenties), and only just recently started noticing it was beginning to build up more than normal. (semi-hard "clumps" building up under the foreskin, below the head.)
I've also got issues with retracting my foreskin that far, like just about everyone else here; sensitive head and all that. After a little while of stretching it in a warm shower though, it actually loosened up pretty fast, which was a bit surprising.Something that helped me to remove the "clumps" was a doctor's "brush pick"; essentially a plastic toothpick with a softer brush tip at the end. (still need to be careful with it, it's not really a brush; I was extra-careful only to poke at the smegma itself, not any parts of my penis.)Kinda gave myself a mini panic-attack during the process, since I'd never managed to retract my foreskin that far and there was way more smegma than I'd anticipated; ended up stopping before I could clean all of the clumps out, as I was actually starting to feel lightheaded (not sure if I was in the shower too long, or just starting to panic; not fun). Definitely would advise following everyone else's advice and taking it slowly, even if you can manage to stretch the foreskin far enough in one try.
Anyway, really glad to see that it's not a rare occurrence or some sort of weird infection or anything, though I'm still not too comfortable with how thick it seems to be; I guess it's just a result of poor hygiene on my part, though definitely something I'll be keeping in mind in the future.
I have been dealing with the same issue as well. there are "clumps" beneath the s**t and along the "ring" of my head. For the longest time, I thought I was cleaning it right by soap and water. I guess I was doing it the wrong way as the clumps are still there...
Im curious about the "brush pick" stated... I am second guessing if I should let it be checked by my doctor 9i'm ashamed, partly). Just ackward. So, can I use the normal toothbrush, instead and I'll just be gentle.. Will try it soon.. Thanks for the helpful det's..
all you have to do is masturbate once a day, maybe get laid a a few times
It's not quite that simple, Guest 3/12/13; masturbation (while still a healthy thing) is no substitute for cleaning! Likewise with sex, of course. (things may be different if you're circumcised, but it's still best to maintain your hygiene.)
Hello I'm am 22 and suffering from the same situation but um, really not as much though as I use to but I been in and out of this forum for some years now but I would like to make a suggesting that a friend of mine told me I could do My friend told me to get some Q-tips and a bottle of baby oil and moister it just enough and go in and ease that gunk out..
hope this helps GOD BLESS!!!!!!
Soak the hardened smegma with olive oil. This will soften it and allow it to be removed.
It is really easy to clean your foreskin without retracting it. Here are two ways:
1. Pinch the tip of your foreskin shut when you pee. Let the pee fill up your foreskin. You will see your foreskin balloon because of the pee inside. Then release the tip and all of the pee inside your foreskin will come gushing out and clean out whatever is inside.
2. Get a rubber bulb ear syringe from a drug store, pharmacy, or chemist’s shop. These are designed to squirt warm water into ear canals to clean them out. They also work great for cleaning out foreskins. Fill the ear syringe with warm (not hot) water and then insert the tip of the syringe into your foreskin. Then squeeze the bulb and a jet of warm water will squirt into your foreskin and clean out what even is inside.
Olive oil has been recommended to soften hardened smegma. Try pouring some olive oil into your foreskin and let it stay inside for about 24 hours and then the smegma should be sofened and easy to remove.
