I am married to a gamer too his 36 years . Love Fortnite and love games on his iPad. Started yell at me for having expensive phone . Ask me for money for hei game like Nintendo Ds lite switch arm Nintendo switch lite and. I used my Check to buy him used Nintendo Ds lite for 180 on Amazon. He even love hot wheels too . We been best friends for 23 years and dated for 3 years been in engaged for 2, years and now married for 5 years . I can’t not take his gaming anymore

I’m on the verge of divorcing my husband, we met and started dating in 2018 and for two years he never played the game. We were great together. He proposed in feb 2020 and the gaming started in March 2020. Since then I’ve felt single and my mistake was not putting off the wedding. We now have a house that’s being built but it’s in his name and I’m ok with it because i didn’t want the house anyway. He games 14 - 18 hours when he’s off and 6 -7 hours when he works 12 hour shifts. He’s off at 6 and we don’t go to bed together or eat together anymore. I feel like a burden when we’re on a date because he’s itching to get back to his game.

Women do not have to make themselves more interesting. No man should convince a woman that she must serve as his entertainment slave to keep him enthralled. That is not independence. A video game addiction is a dopamine addiction. Women parade around in lingerie and their husbands tell them to go away because they are in the middle of a campaign. So many wives of veterans like to preach fortitude. You insult and denigrate the wives of veterans. There is no amount of supplication that breaks the spell of video game addiction. Many veterans become addicted to gaming because veterans with TBI and PTSD have impulse control and escapism disorders that were born in the adrenaline of combat. Many veterans make better ex husbands than husbands because they offer their wives so little as a life partner.

Leave him. Cheating emotionally is no different from doing it in person.

I left a fiancé due to his addiction to gaming, it starts off gaming just in the evenings then they stay up all night and before you know it, it’s all weekend and no chores or real life activities happen. Next they make it impossible for you to want to do anything with them, just so they can stay home gaming. I left him and then he spent a year begging me to come back. By that time it was too late and he was given too many chances.

No husband should ever make you feel like gaming and his gaming friends are more important than you. You should be after his mum and dad, kids etc the most important person in his life.

My current husband is doing the same thing. Prioritising gaming over our relationship and me. I’m not far off leaving him as well. Gaming addictions are very real and you can literally spend years trying to help them, it ruins relationships and lives.

This is first time I heard something this stupid. It is like when a girl get raped and people blame the girl for wearing skirts. Nobody can be as fun as the game. Do you even know how many people involved in the process of making an addicted game? Good luck of blaming the victim. Hope one day you get stolen/robbed and you can blame yourself for not been careful enough.
