Right okay no medical studies have shown that lifting stunts your growth I'm 13 and 5,5 ft tall and lift 6.5 in each arm and do 100 reps a day this has not stunted my growth at all and continue to do weights everyday

Hello John I recently turned 14 and I have been lifting 2kg weights for about 15 minutes from the past couple days I'm about 5'4 wil these weights effect my growth and all so my bones in my arms are hurting I can barely move them any Advice ?
No weight lifting does not affect our growth hormone or neither our bone not to grow because when you do some weights it strengthens your your whole body

As a former licensed athletic trainer in the state of Texas, I want to caution young boys and girls from lifting weights as a form of strengthening. While it is true that you can increase your strength and muscle mass by lifting weights, the potential damage to your growth plate - (the area at the ends of your bones where they are still growing) is significant. If you choose to lift weights, please use a small amount of weight and do more repetitions.
Only lift weights if you can already do push ups, pull ups and other calisthenics well. If you do not have enough strength to do these exercises first, then you are likely to have an increased chance of fracturing or damaging your growth plate. Once your growth plate has been damaged, it can stop growing....hence the rumor that lifting weights can stunt your growth. Please learn the science of lifting weights and how it affects muscles before you begin. It's worth it in the long run. Hope this helps!
