i was on defo for 8 yrs and the pill for 1 my daughter is now 12, iv been off everything for 3yrs, now i had my daughter when i was 16 and got put straight on it by my doctor, my partner and i have been trying for a baby for 2 yrs and still no luck i believe that its been the depo that has made it so hard for us to concieve.
I read your story and wondered if your were ever able to get pregnant. I'v been off the depo since 05' & really worried if I can ever get pregnant and doctors of course say there is nothing wrong with the shot and I have thought aboutif there were any news on you're law suite or what happened
My names Crysti. I was so shocked when I came across this. I took the depo shot ONE time (2 years ago) and never went back for it because I just didnt feel right after getting it. I also had my period for over a month straight after I got it. Still today I have NOT had a period since. Two years without a period.. and I cant get pregnant for the life of me. Ive been in a very steady relationship for over 3 years now and we really want a baby. We had a miscarriage close to a year before I got the depo shot. The Dr's said nothing was wrong with me it was just apart of life and that I shouldnt have any problems trying to get pregnant next time I was ready. Well now I've been ready and have had no luck getting pregnant or having my period. I'm just curious if anyone has any advice for me on how they got their period back and how long it took??

i am in the same boat, I was put on the shot by my doctor in '95, got off it for 6mos and had a kid in '97 then back on right after until about '05 I have been off since then and have been trying to conceive all these years with no luck. I just started doing research on the internet about how depo is used as a sterilization tool for women. I don't remember being told infertility would be a side effect...ever! I would be down with signing a petion for suite.
i got in touch with a lawyer but he hasnt got back to me yet. ill give him a few days and see if he will take on the suite
If you hear anything back from the lawyer let me know, I have been thinking about getting ahold of one but wasn't sure on what they would say
something needs to be done to stop these companys from makeing money based on are infertility
My story is this ..we had are first child at 18 then another one 2.5 years later then another 2.5 years later then are last 20 months after then I wanted to wait a while so I took the depo shot only 3 times I gained 30 pounds and bleed the whole time. Since going off the shot I have had 5 miscarriages and 2 ectopic in 10 years.NEVER had any complications before the shot ...same husand ...natural births....they have no answers for me! The only change was that shot!
My story is I had my soon when I WA 16 had my daughter at 18, I guy on the shotafter I had her and for the first 3 months I bled do they gave me estrogen pills which my periods became normal after being on the shot for 2 years I went off of it in 05 got married in 07 and he has two kids of his own so when I has trouble conceiving I wondered, we split up in 09 because of marriage problems
When I got with a guy who had 5 kids for3 years and still could never get pregnant I really started to worry. Now that i'm with a guy who has no kids of his own but I have my own kids I really get depressed every month when I get my period and my doctor tells me I should have no problem conceiving. It doesn't feel good knowing my bf is with a girl who can't possibly give him his own child. He may says it's fine but i'm only 27 now I still was hoping to have one more child but now it seems that may never happen and I can't afford to going out that's wrong out get treatments yet no one can give me a straight answer on why this is happening
Depo has been fine for me... I'm crampy and get a little acne sometimes but thats it.
I was on the Depo for four years and me and my husband are having a really bad time getting pregnant also!
im 18 yrs old right now i have a 2 yr old son he will be 3 january 18th 2013 and after having him at 15 my mom made me start the depo shot i stopped it as soon as i goton it i never went back in for a 2nd shot its been 3yrs now and there has been many times i should of been pregnant but have never succeded and my period is now 3days late and im hoping me and my boyfriend are having a baby but im affraid the depo may have made me infetile please help i really want a second child and he wants his 1st
I had the depo shot twice and I hated the bleeding but after that I was trying to detox myself and got on regular birth control and drank plenty of water and I was on a low carb diet. My cousin told me that low carb diets work if you want to have a baby, because his wife and some of his friends tried it and they became pregnant. Anyways it took about two months for me to get my period regular again. About 7 months after that I was pregnant. I am back on the depo vera but while I'm on depo I still take prenatal vitamins, drink plenty of water, and stay on my low carb diet. Everyone has different bodies. I just wanted to give you all hope, because I was afraid that I wasn't going to be able to concieve 2 years ago when I took the Depo shot and read something similar to this. Just pray and believe that you can concieve and it will happen. In the mean time enjoy the love making and don't worry about it, it will happen when you least expect it!!!
