Hey there, I had the same problem. I had a child in 1993 and then had depo shot soon after. My husband and I could not conceive for 7 years. I went and had my tubes flushed and right after that I got pregnant. I know the shot caused this problem. Getting my tubes flushed just took about a half hour. I have three more children now so I hope this helps.
I have a story I went to get the depo. Shot and the nurse injected me straight into my right ovary I literally felt like a part if me was dying and now I think I'm infertile because if this could u sue them for this
Hello i was on depo for a year when i was in college and after i got off of it i got pregnant but then had a miscarriage im still with the same guy and we have been trying for a baby for two years and no luck my periods are very light or heavy so i do think depo messes you up
i was also 17 when i got my first shot still in hospital after delivering my first kid in AUG 2004. i did the whole allowed 5 years. im 28 now and been trying for 4 years. still nothing. my mother said yes as i was young. did u do any fertility clinics?
Don't give up I took the shot at 14 and I did not successfully get pregnant again for 15 years unfortunately I lost the baby but I have some comfort in know I can conceive. Good luck
I have the same problem!! I was on the depo shot for 1 year and stopped never have had normal periods since!
I ended up having to get a hysterectomy from all the damage from pcos.
Foreal I feel the same way
I had a baby at 18. When she was 12 mths I had my first depo- 2 in total before my partner and I wanted to try again. I just turned 40 and we have never had any more children despite not having any further birth control , a sperm tests , other fertility tests being ok. Don't do it.
I am interested it's not right and we have to suffer for the rest of our lives! Maybe they will think twice before they make those kind of desions for woman!
I was on it for about 6 months when I was 18 which was the same year I got married. I've been off of it for about 4 years. I've had 3 recorded miscarriages and one of them was a pregnancy that occurred in my ovarian tubes. After the 3rd miscarriage last year I haven't had any more pregnancies. I'm currently on thyroid pills. But I had no issues with irregular periods or anything until I took this. I strongly do not recommend this to women who plan on having children in the future.
I share basically the same story. Never realized trying to be a "responsible" young adult would result in indefinite infertility. Had I known, I would have opted for the pill or some other means of contraception. I suppose hindsight is 20/20, the foreseeable future remains bleak and barren. Have been to the fertility clinic and tried clomid and other medications with no results besides insomnia and insanity. Thankfully, my husband has been my champion beside me through it all. I used the depo shot for approx 5 years from 18yrs old, I am now 33. My periods are highly irregular if at all (only 1 or 2 annually). My advice - try something else! If you are currently using depo or thinking about trying it, please educate yourself and consider other alternatives.
I was on depo for 4 years and had to have a DNC or basically a scraping of my endometrium because I was NOT having my period it looked like there was an egg in the bottom of it. I finally stopped Birthcontrol at 18, after I didn't need my parents approval, ever since, I have had multiple issues including endometriosis, which does NOT run in my family, ovarian cysts, pain with intercourse so bad that I don't even want to have it. My husband literally can't touch me because my body always aches, I'm going in for a laparoscopy in February that will check if I'm infertile. I'm only 20 years old. Even freezing my eggs won't work. DEPO IS DEFINITELY the cause, I never had any problems before this AWFUL medicine, although my parents didn't know at the time how bad this stuff was, they agreed I needed to be on Birthcontrol, why? I have no idea considering I had only been with one person prior to my marriage. I'm currently on the pills and have missed weeks at a time and never turned up pregnant, not that I'm trying or anything, but it's just a little crazy that I haven't been. If there isn't a lawsuit already in progress, there WILL be one by March of 2016. There is not only constant problems with my body, but I'm emotionally screwed up, no woman wants to here that she can't have children and has a problem that only getting pregnant could fix.
My story is similar to yours and I wanna Sue as well. It should have warning labels and tell it's user's what it does if they use it.
