It was always pretty easy for me to loose weight, I used to be a bit chubby, but when I entered highschool I lost 20 pounds in 10 weeks by exercising and eating right. Since then I actually do a lot of sports, mountain biking and alit of running mostly. End of last summer I joined the gym, and lost another 2.5 kilos of pure fat in 6 weeks. (From those 20 pound I lost I gained 15 back over the last few years.) But in October, when I turned 18 and could finally drive, it got so easy to get weed I smoked almost on a daily basis. I didn't do any sport since October and ate alot of unhealthy stuff. While I definitely noticed that I'm out of shape, I didn't gain a pound. Over the Holliday's I smoked even more and ate so much sugary and fatty stuff that I was Shure I had to have gained at least 1 or 2 kilos, but after a week of not smoking and exercising a bit, I seem to have lost 2 kilos. Im actually under 80 kilos now, which hasn't happened in a long time. It's weird, I hope this phenomenon will be researched in the future, now that it's getting legalized bit by bit.

I’ve smoked heavily for most of my life and quit for a few years to have a child and gained 30kg. So I decided to briefly become addicted again specifically to lose weight and have lost 25kgs in 6-8 months. I have now quit again because I’ve reached my goal weight. I find it easy to stop smoking and now the weight is off I will try to eat healthier meals so I don’t gain the weight back. So yes it does cause weight loss for me as I smoke rather than eat and it supresses my appetite drastically. I don’t recommend it as it is not particularly healthy but morbid obesity, meal replacements, duramine and gastric bypasses aren’t either. Dieting and exercise weren’t working because I can’t stick to them and the fatter I became the less I wanted to leave the house and I thought this is worse than smoking again. I’ve always been a functional stoner so it doesn’t overly impact my life other that the week after I quit as it difficult to sleep so I need sleeping tablets but after a week sleep returns to normal after 3 weeks so does appetite. Hope this was helpful

I’m late but thank you. Your answer was the only one that made sense.

You’re welcome! The catch is you have to smoke everyday and it’s takes about a month for appetite suppression and weight loss to begin.

Whether smoking marijuana contributes to weight gain may partly depend on how much quantity a person smokes. The people who smoked marijuana regularly and more often they smoked Marijuana, the more weight they gained.

I disagree the more you smoke the less you eat but it has to be daily and for longer than a month otherwise you do get the munchies I was smoking around a gram and a half a day and lost 25kg over 6-8 months the first month I gained weight due to munchies and low tolerance and intake. I spoke chronically from 14- 28 years of age and had no problem with weight until I quit. Perhaps it doesn’t work for all but sure does for me.

You don't know what your talking about.

You can lose weight as you develop a lack of appetite during the day and you wont be eating as much you'll only eat when you have the munchies so you'd probably be losing weight at a quicker pace than you're losing it...Just a suggestion anyways.
