I am hoping it doesn't lead to a ruined metabolism or weight gain because I really enjoy it and tbh I don't know if I can stop at this point--neither do I want to.
I have done this for 10 Years now. Other than the first year when I lost weight using this method, it has haunted me for the last 9. Almost certainly this has caused me to gain weight every time I chew and spit, but not knowing exactly what the biological chain reaction is makes me keep going back to this habit because I keep holding out hope that this can be an easy way out to lose/maintain weight while still having my cake and eating it too, literally. Now I view this behaviour the same as I would overeating, it’s an emotional eating disorder, it temporarily numbs and releases stress and tension. I wish I can stop for good, but I still haven’t found an alternative to that numbing and releasing that is as effective as and not more damaging than chewing and spitting or binging.
My point is simple anyone can CS safely, just be sane about it!
What are my chances. I'm anorexic by the way.
I was recovering from an eating disorder where I’d starve myself all week and binge at weekends and then discovered chewing and spitting about 6 years ago.
It’s really disgusting when you think about it isn’t it. Chewed up food in some kitchen paper but I had made into a ritual for myself in a way.
At first I thought “this is awesome all the taste with no calories” but 6 years on that is not true. If you chew and spit say things with a chocolate coating, that chocolate is going to melt in your mouth and then be in your system. Sugars in certain foods like granola and bread dissolve and stay in your saliva. Simple.
I’m 5’7’ when I stared spitting and chewing I was 60kg, I’ve gained weight since then. I don’t over eat and I have a varied workout 5 days a week. So obviously this is where I’m going wrong.
I’m only now trying to cut it out entirely and it’s hard but I really would urge you all to try. I’ve been making lots of homemade healthy snacks like protein balls and protein frozen yoghurt bark that I can have at hand - they taste good and they’re not necessarily going to take you off track if you’re eating a balanced diet. Also I’m allowing myself to have that chocolate and cake and not stress. That was the biggest hurdle to overcome but it’s working and my excess weight is coming off.
Hope this helps someone x
