Weight lifting is great for your body no matter what the age, it makes you feel great and look great as well. i'm 14 years old, i started weight training when i turned 14, i am turning 15 with in the month, i can bench 200 lbs and curl 50 lbs in each arm. with dedication you can acheive this! but remeber to do cardio to keep your heart healthy, because weight lifting can also have an affect on your joints. remeber NEVER lock your joints when weight lifting, you can do serous damage to them.

Train insane, or be the same!

dedication and motivation are key to working out!

dont lift weight serioudly belive me.............lifting weights changes your body function, when u do it early stage of your life......your growing now and its not the time to build.....when u start body building your body will be turning your body into muscles and not make it longer and bigger because your chnaging your body function...........y do u fink scientist say do it after 18........think about it.....

when you do weight lifting around 14 15 you can realy damage your joints so in later life if you want to become a bodybuilder you WILL NOT be able to lift weights because your joints will crack and give way ! .

I'm in the medical profession and I'd say whilst the actual lifting of the weights shouldn't alter height, heavy lifting causes a surge of testosterone, which in low amounts causes bone growth, but in high concentrations marks the end of growth and growth plate fusion at each end of your limbs, spine etc, so that may have some impact.

The second thing to consider is that the lifting may not alter growth, but the resultant muscle tightness 24/7 and inflexibility may prevent limbs growing as long as expected, or cause the spine to curve rather than lengthen. I wouldn't mind my kids lifting from the age of 15, but I'd make sure they did PLENTY of stretching.

Stretch all the large muscle groups as much as possible after workouts and try to keep maximal joint mobility (especially in the shoulders) without injuring yourself and I'd expect you to be fine.
