You should only start out with light workouts and progress slowly up, and when you think your about almost the same height as your father or whoever is the tallest in your family. Just remember don't work out were at the point your body aches so much.

No. It won't make u stop growing. When i started working out my friends also told me that. I did some research and i'm sure that working out/wheight lifting won't make u short or stop ur growth. It's just a roumour.

those two authorities aren't dispelling it as a 'myth', they're advocating a carefully-planned light-lifting regime. weight-lifting/bodybuilding can stunt growth if too heavy/done too much, since it causes a hormone change that stops you from growing.

there are credible research papers that claim that weight-lifting DOES stunt growth: raise in testosterone causes raise in eostrogen, which stunts growing taller.

i started at 16. i still had hardly entered puberty, i.e. voice not broke, no facial hair, etcetera. i had grown consistently, but when i started weightlifting on my 16th birthday, i completed stopped in height, shorter than both my older brothers, shorter than my dad, and one of, if not the, shortest in my family. wait until you're 18.

I mean I'm 13 and I'm 5'7" so his growth mightve been stunted a bit (i only lift light weights and I have indian genetics)
