Yeah i have heard about it that lifting heavy weights will make a problem in growing height...So try to avoid weight lifting until you will get the best height ...

Well im just sayin that weightlifting can affect your height but only by about 2 or 3 inches. at the age of 15 your muscles still havent fully developed. i would suggest more dumbells than bench lifting. putting on muscle at this age is pretty pointless, when you grow again all this muscle will only just turn into weight, it also dramitcally decreases your sprinting speed if you havent balanced out your workout properly

i started wieght lifting this year and im 15 5'7 and 120 lbs. i am trying to stop tho because looking back at people who started lifting young are short! so i think it does affect growth. its better to wait for height than to be short and muscular! normally people that do wieght lift young is because they grew quick by the age of 13 and 14 but not everyone has that potential! so if youre not satisfied with your height its better to wait!

I only think it will cause probs when your really young like before the age of 13..but still 15 doesnt sound like a bad age to start

if you are young you should not try yourself in bodybuilding. it may increase your hormone but its not good for your body enlargement. you should train your muscles by doing real sport like football, basketball or soccer. maybe the best age to start BodyBuilding is like 18-20years.

This is a myth that has to be killed.
When Guest says that you should play basketball, this is a nonsense because in a basketball jump youre putting eight times your bodyweight in pressure to your joints because of the force of gravity. and if this doesnt affect growth, weightlifting wont affect either! because when you make a squat youll be lifting maximum two times youre weight, not eight times as in basketball!!!

Jesus, i see here 15 yo kiddo's that squat 300 pounds and bench 200. Are u hearing what u say, 25-30 yo dudes work hard to reachs that and at 15 u do it like nothin', maybe Arnold was born again ... kids

I started weightlifting/strength training at 15. I joined the gym at 14, but started doing machines and stuff at 15... I began doing 60kg lat pull down, inner grip though, and then did various weights on other machines. I'm 16 now, and in my late 15s and early 16s I began trying to get bigger. I hope it hasn't done anything to my growth! I've noticed I've height grown by comparing a picture from last July to recent July, however I hope my growth has not been affected in anyway. In late 15s/early 16s I began lifting 15kg dumbbells (however with good form... no bending back, etc - I could manage it), inner grip 60kg lat pull down, and 50kg bench (but bench only a few times over 3 weeks...) I understand some people may think that's a lot, however I was doing it with good form, school mates were doing a lot heavier, but they were and are taller than me. I am 16, 5'5, 17 in December, my mum is 5'4, my dad is about 5'6, my oldest brother 5'7 and the other a bit taller than him... 5'8? I feel pretty small at college! I understand I have a small family, lol, but I do not want to remain at this height! At least get to my brother's height! Is this possible? I got quite big, even though I lifted less than other people, and that's what worries me... I ate all the right stuff (I think that's a reason), chicken and rice, etc, did 1 maximuscle protein shake after workouts... I feel/felt a lot bigger than people outside the gym my age, but obviously a lot smaller muscle-wise than those in the gym. I trained practically everyday, or 5 times a week... dad went, so gave me a lift. I also did 20 mins cardio. Any answer? How much do you reckon I'll grow and when or IF!!!!
