I Asked this last time but they were smaller weights. I lift around 7.5 pounds on each arm so 15 pounds overall. Will this stunt my growth. I usually do about 4 - 5 sets of 12 reps. My back does hurt after but I don't know if this is normal as I am a beginner or it's just growing pains or I've strained it.
Any reply is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Ben,
Using proper technique then won't normally stunt your growth, but, pain is an indicator that something is wrong.
You DO need to take a break occasionally. Your muscles get stronger by actually "tearing." As they heal the new tissue makes them stronger - but they need to rest to heal.
You also need rest to grow.
Don't over do it.
Good luck.

Thanks. Usually I leave a 2-3 day gap before doing more. I am gonna stop for a bit and see what my back is like. Thoughts?

One more thing. I also do rowing and sit-ups as well. One on one day and one on the other. Do you think I should stop this for a bit as well and in the future have a rest day in between?

Those are very good activities too.
Do take a break from them for a bit to see if the back pain goes away. I'd think the rowing might be the cause.

Hi again! I took about a 4 day break from my regular exercise pattern and during this period I noticed the back pain eased off a bit. Today (27th March) I did my rowing and my weights. The back pain has continued. Could this just be a growing pain or when I do the rowing it strains my back? Thanks, Ben

I think you must do 1 set of cardio after 1 set of strength exercise. You should keep balance between strength and body streching. I hope it will help you to get rid off your pain.
