If you no longer have your Gallbladder there are certain protols you have to follow to help Ill Health. You have to use Cholacol which are bile salt to break down the foods and liquids you still desire to consume. And most importantly you have to treat the scars, ortherwise you will have a life time of unknown illness that Doctors will try to treat with drugs and more surgury and eventually say there is nothing else we can do for you Medically, Chiropractically, Acupuncturally, etc.. After seeing thousands of patients, that has to be the most come thing I have Heard when listening to you in my consultation. If it not out let's keep it. If it out let's not lose any more organs, decrease the meds and learn how to have a fun and happy Life. :D DrVince ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** private e-mails not allowed **

It's good to know I'm not alone, before having my gallbladder removed in Aug of 2008 alcohol really didn't effect me, unless I consumed a large quantity of it, now one small drink and I'm drunk, get the blackout feeling, and feel like death warmed over for a few days after ONE DRINK.
I'm only 35 & have since decided that it's just easier to not drink at all. Along w/no longer being able to tolerate alcohol, I also discovered I do not digest red meat like I used to. I have since given up red meat too.

I had my Gall Bladder out 9 years ago, and find that when I drink Vodka I often get sharp abdominal pains. These last for about half an hour and are really quite unbearable. To get rid of them I need to drink litres of water and flush my system out. I have found that it happens more so with bars that serve cheap brands of Vodka.
I'm ok on wine etc.

I am a 25 year old female and had my gall bladder removed at 16 years old due to gall stones. Despite the nasty side effects, when I turned 21 I was a pretty heavy drinker. Jose Cuervo being my alcohol of choice. Sometimes I would pass out before I got sick but most of the time I would throw up all the alcohol I drank that night and any food there might have been. For some reason everytime I drink I get the munchies but it all comes right back up. After a while it started to piss me off so I tried to figure out my body and what I could do to stop barfing everytime I drink. Eating something high protien but still low in fat right before going out to drink works for me. for example: skinless and seasonless chicken, tuna, cold water fish, turkey. Also some kind of whole grain side like brown rice or bread. Some other things that helped were to spread out the liqquor because it will hit you all at once. For some reason not having a gall bladder messes with blood sugar I have noticed. Also, taking a couple ibproufin and hydration is key. So, a well balanced meal about an hour before drinking, headache medicine, and dring water all day long before going out will really help. You have to stabalize yur blood sugar. If I dont do this, I throw up yellow stuff and have a headache until all of it comes out. I cant even hold down water when I let myself get to that point. It is the worst felling ever. The whole reason our gall bladders were removed is because we werent taking care of ourselves like we should have been. Some people can handle processed foods and fats and never have gall stones. Our bodies just can't deal with it. oh, and detox whenever possible. that helps our liver from working overtime. good luck. :-D :-D :-D :-D

Hey, I had my gall bladder removed two days ago, im a 20 year old male college student. Before I got my GB out i could easily drink 15-18 shots with out blacking out or throwing up in about a 5 hour period. Yesterday my girlfriend didnt finish her glass of wine she usually has before bed, so i drank it.. Somehow i was so bombed off one glass of ONE glass of wine. I felt this strange tingling feeling were my GB used to be. No headache or throwing up like all the rest of the posts but it was crazy. I really hope this changes soon. My fraternity will think im a biatch. :$

Same thing with myself, black out drunk after 2 glasses of wine! A friend of mine told me that being put under and morphine used before and after surgery can stay in your system up to a year and affect your tolerance.

I had my gallbladder removed when I was 18. I am now 26. I could always drink alcohol without any problems but now I can barely hold down 1 drink. Anything more and I will vomit for hours and get a terrible headache. It is not worth it for me so I don't drink anymore. I think it's time to legalize marijuana.

I have had my gallbladder removed as well. It started bothering me and causing me to have severe attacks when I was 19yrs. old and pregnant with my first. I went into the doc. and they kept telling it was just heartburn (like I was stupid and didnt know the difference) lol. Anyhow 4 weeks after my son was born my gallbladder burst :-( Needless to say it has been almost 10 years now since the surgery and I still have stomach problems/pain. Not always or constant either. I definatly notice a difference when I change up my diet or when Having "drinks" of anykind of alcohol. I don't always get super sick but most of the time I do get a headache. If anyone has a figure out a cure for these stomach pains/bathroom attacks... Please let me know!

I had my gall bladder out two weeks ago, I drank two glasses of red wine 4 days ago and was fine, the next day I wanted to finish the bottle so had another glass and a half, then a beer. The day after I felt dizzy and nausiated, different than hangovers i've had before, if this even was one. i had some mild pain in the area where the gall bladder was but it was different too than the gall attacks i used to have. I haven't had more to drink since (been 2 days) and am trying to stay away from fatty foods more as i was testing out too what i could handle those days food-wise. I'm STILL feeling nausiated from this and am kinda wondering whats going on.. i was only told not to drink for 24 hours, they were very adamant about it though. I remember blurred faces telling me "no alcohol.. ok? no alcohol" lol right after surgery so i was kinda out of it. anyways that was a week and a half before the drinks i had, i waited a lot longer than 24 hours :s I guess what I have going on though is nothing compared to most stories from you guys in here. I hope it goes away and I can drink again -_- I was looking forward to being able to have a few beers and some scotch and what not when everyone else is enjoying it too :( I went 4 years with gall bladder problems and not drinking much before my surgery.

hi, i had my gall bladder out in sep 09 and since i have had it out my hangovers have actually been better than before, though i have been consuming more wine, whisky and gin since and before my drink of choice was beer? i was wondering if my drink choice is the reason or the gall bladder, in terms of the actual standard drinks, i probably consume the same amount bu t feel better the next day??

Hello all. I guess I've got to say that I'm one of the lucky ones. I had my GB removed about 3 yrs ago when I was 40. I didn't drink right after the surgery, but one year later, I was consuming as much after as I was before. I don't drink every day, but can consume say, 12 beers on a weekend night and don't really notice any effects. Wine or hard liquor don't seem to bother me either. I do have the ABSOLUTE need to go to the bathroom in the AM right after breakfast, but that's the case regardless of any alchohol consumed the night before or not. I did need to have the 12 inch cut surgery to remove mine as they couldn't remove it laproscopically. Not sure if it's tougher on my liver than before...... Any thoughts out there??? Thanks.
