I've had a dry, flaky left ear for almost a year. The skin will constantly replenish itself and then flake off days later. I'm afraid it's spread to my hands though. My hands went from being perfectly fine to extremely dried out and are starting to peel. This began on Monday.

My ear had sprang up out of nowhere with no changes in lifestyle so I figured it'd just go away after a bit, but it persists. My hands on the other hand have me confused on what could be the cause. I decided to try using a tanning salon about five months back in preparation for my trip to Hawaii. I've been going in twice a week. Due to this, I finally had a need to use moisturizer on my hands, which I've never previously ever used on my hands, I didn't start using the moisturizer until three days ago, right before my hands started doing this.

I'm also considering the possibility of it being from the increased dosage of Estradiol that my doctor put me on as she said it would probably cause my skin to dry out some. I'm really hoping this one isn't the cause though. The dosage was increased about a month ago.

None of the recent changes are the cause of my ear being flaky because it was that way before starting any of this. Which makes me wonder if maybe my ear and hands are somehow connected now. I've set up an appointment with a dermatologist, but they're backed up for three months so I figured I'd see if anyone else might have an idea of what's going on.

Thanks for reading.

should definitely try to see a doctor about it
