Woke up with dry swollen eye lid. The next day the dry, red area extended down my cheek and the next day down to my chain. No pain or itchiness. Resembles a peeling sunburn. Any thoughts?
Hello,
at first, this sounds like an allergic reaction. But the problem is, it's not only skin products (and shower gels, soaps, cream.. etc) cause allergic reactions that are visible on skin, even the food or some ingredient could cause a skin to react, as well. If you had anything to eat or during before this started that's new or unusual for you, there might be a link. But, 'd also advise you to try and see a dermatologist to make sure what exactly is going on. Since the peeling skin, or more correctly, the new skin under it might be more susceptible to infections, it would be the best if you'd get it examined and gotten a prescription cream to help it heal quicker,
Wish you all the best, Nicole
This did resolve within a 2-3 week period. I applied vitamin E oil generously each morning after cleaning my face, them applied a good SPF 50 sunscreen protectorant over that and it gradually resolved. My eyelid, however, remains very slightly droopy - I can live with that.
