I think we've all said something dumb that, at the time, seemed logical enough, but later turned out to be something really stupid.
Probably one of the most classic lines was Bill Gates saying, "Nobody will ever need more than 640k RAM!"
Here are a couple of mine...
"I just don't see what the big deal is about the internet." After logging on for the very first time many, many moons ago.
"This place is selling $1000 bikes! They'll be out of business in no time." After stumbling into my first real bike shop almost 12 years ago. BTW - The shop is still there.
To a pair of shoes peaking out from under a stall door here at work.
Thought they were my cube neighbors.
They weren't.
My boss replied "Uh yeah, it is a little rank in here"
8O Oh, uh sorry 'bout that Don....
"This CD thing is just a fad. It'll pass really quickly" (This was in '92)
He still gets teased horribly for that one.
6 months later, Diabetes strikes.
why do we need a stupid computer? honey? i wouldn't be caught dead driving a mini van
Dude, there isn't enough server space here for all the stupid things I've said ;)
 thanks for the honesty genie. i am glad i did not have a mouthful of water when i read that. i even heard the inflection in DUDE.
"I'm going to give _____ a chance (or one more chance)."
Seemed perfectly reasonable at the time.
Sure, I'll have another beer. even dumber is number of times I've said this
