ear loss and pain

For a year now my ear feels blocked up and I have sharp painsoff and on comming from my left ear,it doesnt feel like the pain is in the ear it feels like it is comming from the entrance of my ear,the ear doctor did a MRI and found it too be negative,but I have had signicant heaRing loss when he did a hearing test,months ago I had gone to my doctore because I had a pain in my head,he checked it out and said it was a muscle,could this be the cause,I also have recently gone on blood presure pills and that normal,but my ear has a sound I can only describe as a steady white noise,also with a MRI can they see if I have nerve damage in the ear,need answeres
