I was diagnosed with Epididamitis on Aug 9th 012. The doctor gave me a one week dose of Ciprofloxcin. On the following Saturday the 11th the pain in my left testicle when I coughed went away. I then went and saw my family doctor and he recommended taking another week of Ciprofloxcin. There was mild pain around my testicles, kinda like a pulled groin. On the last day of my Ciprofloxcin treatment Aug 23rd the pain changed. It became worse and radiated around the base of my penis and kind of a U shape around my testicles, and occasionally right in the tip of my penis. I went back to the doctor on the 28th and I had a urine test which came back clean of any kind of infection. I was then given naproxen, which seemed to do nothing. I'm now taking Lyrica a neuropathic pain reliever. Only at bed time as it causes drowsiness. It's too soon to tell if it's working. So basically what I want to know is, are these typical lasting side effects to the Epididamitis or does the pain usually stay in the testicles? (My testicles seem to be the only thing down there that aren't in some constant degree of pain.)
Omg Slip, same thing happened to me, the dull aching pain in testical and leg area stopped, now there's burning at the base and tip of the penis. What is this? I'm 21, I want answers.
I was told 5 weeks ago that I probably had this after feeling heVy in the testicles and swelling mostly in the right testicle which left me knackered!
I'm a primary teacher and been off work for around 3 weeks. I was prescribed two weeks (28 tablets of Cipro). This got rid of the pain (it took over a week) and since then i get pain in my body especially arous the abdomen, groin and in the area surrounding the penis. I really hope that this pain goes away but I think know it's a nerve problem as I get twitches in the testicles from time to time and I also play football which makes it difficult! Help!
EVERYONE HERE I LIKELY HAVE THE ANSWER TO YOUR PROBLEM: I had the same deal, epidydimitis that was treated yet pain never subsided (or went away for a bit after 1st treatment and later returned). Sometimes had twitching or uncomfortable acute pain in testicle, and CONSTANT dull ache that never went away. Had some swelling. 2 Ultrasounds reveled nothing. Additional treatment with antibiotics did not help, and lived with the pain for YEARS before deciding to try cranberry juice extract natural health product. Worked 100%!! You must take it for at least 2 weeks before beneficial effect, but give it a couple of months to be sure you've really tried it. This has really changed my life for the better. I tried going off the cranberry pills to see if I still needed it but the pain eventually returned, so now on it for good. T

This advice is for people who have already seen a doctor and not been helped, as I think it's important for people with testicular problems to first see a doctor, then when they say you're OK and you realize they can't help that you try this to get rid of the pain.
Further to my post above, here is a government of Canada approved product monograph stating uses for cranberry as a natural health product for the treatment of urinary tract infections: http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/dhp-mps/prodnatur/applications/licen-prod/monograph/mono_cranberry-canneberge-eng.php
been on cipro for a week. Went away for like maybe a day... Still taking the meds but discomfort is getting worse.
I would not call it pain though, more like an alert awareness of the testicle and well.... feels like blue balls. feels better when I ejaculate and it sucks either way!!
If there is a doctor out there somewhere with an idea of what the F? please let us know
I almost didn't post on this forum, because my symptoms/results are a bit different than most of the posters.
I was diagnosed with Epididymitis one year ago after I got sick of dealing with the symptoms. I had noticed the swelling years before but noticed it would disappear for days/weeks/months at a time. Other than the swelling, I had no other symptoms (no other pain, no oddness or discharge when I urinated...nothing but slight swelling). At the same, I used to have pain in my abdomen right around where my belly button was (a tearing, tight-feeling) so that was the main reason I decided to go to the doctor.
I was prescribed anti-biotics, and it (mostly) went away, but just today I noticed that both of my "boys" have that slight swelling again. I don't know if it's related to exercise/sexual health at all, but I usually notice the issue after I've been relatively sexually active.
No idea if this helps anyone, and I hope everyone on here gets healthy.
