Hello, good people. I have strabismus and I am thinking about a surgery. I have heard about it on a television. However, I am 40 years old and I am afraid that I am too late for eye muscle surgery. What do you think about this? Am I right? I would appreciate all your replies.
Hi, there. Age can affect whether the eye muscle surgery will go properly. Of course, when one is younger, one can stand it better. However, I wouldn't say that you are too late. Have you talked to your ophthalmologist? I think you ask for a second opinion. Don't talk just to surgeon. Ask behavioral optometrist for an opinion. Surgeons are only concerned about the surgery. Optometrists take care about you in postoperative period. I hope this helps.
