I'm wondering about fat loss patterns AFTER surgery. I've been losing weight slowly for several years now, and had gotten down to 28 percent body fat when I had to have a double mastectomy (no reconstruction) recently.
Typically, I lose weight from my hips and legs first (they are very slim); then some from breasts & back, then arms, then more back, then finally my waist.
Now that the breast fat is gone, I'm really noticing the upper back flubber. And, of course, my tummy.
So I'm wondering: without breast fat, will I lose fat more quickly in the other areas of my body? But, what if I do a full tummy tuck? Would any more fat I lost suddenly come from my upper back and arms? Or do I need to ask surgeon to work on those areas, too, for proper contouring?
My original goal was to get lean at about 18 percent body fat. Now I don't even know how to figure it up!
