Hello all, I too have had the same issues with the pressure/ bubble under my right rib cage... I have had multiple tests run including gallbladder/hida scans, 3 MRIs, 5 ultrasounds, 6 cat scans, etc. with no adverse findings. The only two factors that seem to be related is that one of the doctors found that I have a hiatus hernia (after performing an endoscopy of my stomach) and I have issues managing stress. I have seen a psychiatrist thinking this is a mental issue and was prescribed multiple anti depressants and anti stress medications which help. I have come to the conclusion that this is related to my hiatus hernia and/or some type of IBS and is flaring up due to my high stress levels. I will start exercising more regularly (which is typically a good thing) and try to manage my stress in hopes of reducing these sensations. Hope this helps.

Hey I'm reading this and here is mine . When I go to sit up and feels like an organ is getting caught on one of my ribs right below my diaphragm in the middle but left side there is no pain it just feels really strange and I have to slowly go back down position and try to get up again differently. But reading all this is scaring me I thought maybe just one of my organs was getting pushed on my rib and it was sliding back off because that's what it feels like any ideas?

I've experienced this sensation before, and it just came back a few days ago. This time it wasn't just a sensation, it was pretty painful (at one point I thought it was appendicitis). It really felt like a serious injury (sharp pain), but it's gone now. Also, I should mention that at the same time, I had a stiff neck, and I wasn't feeling too well overall. A day before it started I had a headache, which didn't go away even with 4 aspirins. I'm not overweight at all, I'm quite lean now. I was slightly overweight (BMI 25) when I had it about 2 years ago, but back then it felt more like a "fist" underneath my ribs, which would turn into a cramp when I would bend down.

Here's my thoughts on this. I think it's great that people are booking appointments with their doctors, since those check ups might reveal other health problems they might have, but I don't believe this is related to the organs. And I don't think it affects them in any way. It is either a muscle, or some other non organ tissue. The pain is sort of like a muscle cramp, and it ranges from a "weird sensation" to "pretty painful". Many people have reported these symptoms as coexisting with a stiff shoulder, or neck, typically on the same side (as have I). I believe this is similar to a stiff neck, but it affects a muscle which is deeper in the abdomen, and the pain is slightly different. It is more likely to bother people when they don't feel too well, such as when recovering from a cold, or feeling under the weather. And my guess is that it is more prevalent during the cold season, though there might be people who experience it all year round, but it only gets worse when their immunity is down, most likely during winter. Pay attention to your posture as well. Bending down, flexing, or slouching for too long can trigger it.

I am having same issue! Tonight I was brushing my teeth and while bending over I gagged a little bit and the pain got severely sharp, it almost felt like I split something open. Now I am having repeat tingling sensations in that area. I went to the doctor two days ago and had X-rays and lab work, they did find kidney stones however those were in my left side and my pain is definitely on the right.

Yes yes yes yes I agree they guess and guess and you pay out of your pocket for them just guessing you might as well diagnose yourself put yourself on a regiment and pay attention to your own body eliminate some stuff that you know that's wrong to eat and drink and practice just like they do practice medicine.

Hi, I was in my car driving and dropped a lit cigarette and was bending down trying to get it and I had this before and something very hard comes out like a snake body or a wrist of a child maybe, and it hurts, just below the upper front right rib cage, maybe 3 inches or so from the solar plex, I usually lay down to straighten myself out but As I was driving I could only push it back it with short jabs. My doctor(s) don't know what it is. I think it is the liver coming out of the connectivity tissues, enlarged liver, I wish I knew.

Hi Ken, mine is something that protrudes out from under the upper right rib cage and is very hard and I have to get it back in; it happens when bending or straining while bending. I have been unable to get a picture of it but it feels like a pipe or a hard bone of some sort. I think as I have enlarged fatty liver that it is popping out. ??? Jim

I have no idea
no diagnosis

It can't be your liver. The liver tissue is soft, plus there's several other layers (muscles) in the way, which don't allow your liver to protrude. if you do have fatty liver it has nothing to do with that sensation. Do an ultrasound.
