Exactly the same here!! I finished preparing for dinner, and found the first two fingers on my left hand were burning! I thought I must have burnt them on the Thermomix and didn't realise...they actually have blisters on them!! So I iced them, and they felt a lot better, but an hour later, and they're stinging again and now my thumb is burning!! So strange, but I did de-seed some very hot chillies for dinner tonight! So strange that it's never happened before!

Well....I wish I had the same conclusion....I've not been chopping any kind of chilies, but I get the warm/hot fingers on my left hand.  So far it's just the left middle finger...in the middle tip section.  Seeing posts about Lupus and MS is kind of scaring me.  I'm hoping it's just stress related as the whole family is stressing out quite a bit.

Very helpful thread. Absolutely the same situation here... chillies and then shower. And the pain's been there for about 1/2 an hour now. I was wondering, though... how long does it last? Is there anything I should do to treat it? Thanks.

Same here.  My thumbs and fingers on each hand are burning today...  Today was the first time I chopped up a Jalapeno so I guessed I learned my lesson.  Next time I will wear gloves!  Kinda funny considering that just last week I bought a pack of 100 disposable gloves and did not think about them.

Okay, what about the people who have the hot sensation and have not been around peppers in a long time?

guys soak your fingers in milk for about 10 to 15minutes!!! If you're the victims of the chili/jalapeño pepper juices, warm up a little milk, for 10-15 seconds & soak your fingers until the pain goes away

Oh my goodness. Not long out bath and fingers on right hand feel on fire. Really scared. Took rings off incase hand swelled up. Thought i was going to combust. Really scary. Looked on line and read comments. Guess what. I cooked with chilli pepper this aftermoon. Well well.

My first three left fingers are on fire! After reading all the comments I now realise it's because I chopped up chilles earlier at dinner, then spent 15mins in the steam room at my gym.

I'm so glad I googled this, otherwise I would have probably embarrassed myself at the doctor :P

Interesting. I just got out of the shower about 20 minutes ago, and my finger tips are burning like crazy. I picked up my ipad, and I thought it was hot. Now they are burning like crazy. Last night, I made salsa, chopped up jalepenos, scraped out the seeds by hand, and I cut up a habanero... So, the show, plus I used jojoba oil as after shave, so maybe either the shower opened up the pores, or maybe combined with jojoba oil bringing out the heat of the peppers.

People suffering from spicy burning fingers I heard to try mustard like yellow mustard

Last night I had a burning sensation in my finder tips.  It was keeping me from falling asleep.  After I came across this post I realized I too had chopped Jalapeños for dinner and took a shower shortly after.  Rinsing with water several times did nothing BUT soaking them in milk for 10 min seemed to do the trick.
