thanks for this information. Im so worried but when i read that a lot of people have the same situation.. im relieved..
chillies... just chillies.. :D
Same here. My thumbs and fingers on each hand are burning today... Today was the first time I chopped up a Jalapeno so I guessed I learned my lesson. Next time I will wear gloves! Kinda funny considering that just last week I bought a pack of 100 disposable gloves and did not think about them.
Okay, what about the people who have the hot sensation and have not been around peppers in a long time?
My first three left fingers are on fire! After reading all the comments I now realise it's because I chopped up chilles earlier at dinner, then spent 15mins in the steam room at my gym.
I'm so glad I googled this, otherwise I would have probably embarrassed myself at the doctor :P
Interesting. I just got out of the shower about 20 minutes ago, and my finger tips are burning like crazy. I picked up my ipad, and I thought it was hot. Now they are burning like crazy. Last night, I made salsa, chopped up jalepenos, scraped out the seeds by hand, and I cut up a habanero... So, the show, plus I used jojoba oil as after shave, so maybe either the shower opened up the pores, or maybe combined with jojoba oil bringing out the heat of the peppers.
Last night I had a burning sensation in my finder tips. It was keeping me from falling asleep. After I came across this post I realized I too had chopped Jalapeños for dinner and took a shower shortly after. Rinsing with water several times did nothing BUT soaking them in milk for 10 min seemed to do the trick.
I meant finger not finder. sorry.
