That is so funny the same exact thing is happening to me and I started to freak out. I made cheese stuffed jalapeños last night and just got out of the shower. My fingers are burning with no cuts. So glad it's just from the peppers.

Happy to know it's probably not serious!!

I have the same DX and it is SCLE contained to skin but I stopped manicures as they always leave me sore. Did you find out anything more. I take 200 MG of Plaquenil daily but nothing else.

Definitely thought I was going to need my fingers amputated until I read this and realised ... I cut up chillis last night and then had a shower today!
Such a simple solution and not worth the panic attack! I did cut chillis the week before last and this didn't happen, but I suppose I left the chilli on for longer this time. Thank you random internet strangers for saving me from further stress!

I think it's the jalapeños for me as well. I just got out of the shower when I decided to look this up. I did cook the night before last though. Seems like its been a while especially for how many times I've washed my hands and showered

I have not chopped any jalapenos and my finger tips are on fire? I had chemo therapy 5 years ago for lymphoma, I am thinking it's related to my peripheral neuropathy in my fingers and toes. Any comments are welcomed.

Thank you so much for sharing. I chopped this hot spicy jalapeño while holding it with my right hand fingertips and felt nothing until hours after I showered and the burning began.

Simply hold finger(s) under cold water....That will put out the fire!

Worried when my fingers started burning and tingling but just read a post and I chopped jalapeño this morning hopefully this is the cause of the burning sensation.
