I am having the same problem for aboutwo who days.  It's a flutter under my left rib cage.  Does anyone know what it is and what can be done for it

The first time I had this, it was due to overworking my stomach muscles in the gym, which caused them to go into spasm.

However, I also get something similar if I take ibuprofen for several days.  My doctor says that this is one of the side effects of taking anything containing aspirin.

I hope it is just asprin.

There is a ton of it in the pain medication the hospital gave me.

Did you ever find out what was causing the squeezing feeling below the ribs on the left side?

Hi - I get fluttering as well.  It's irregular so I haven't been overly concerned.  It's simply annoying.  It's similar to the eye twitch when I get too stressed or am extremely exhausted.

I have the same pulsating sensation under my left breast and sometimes in my left breast. I have had every test out there and dr said it is not my heart. Glad to know that. Been in hospital HR several times because of extremely fast heart beat, 140 bum. Dr said tachycardia. Taking diovan 80mg, zantac 150 x 2, aspirin. Recently changed to zantac from nexium b/c fast heart beat I, tachycardia is a side effect of nexium and some other acid reflux meds. The feeling is still scary when I get it. Sometimes it's like something vibrating under my left breast.

I'm 26 and female,

Today iv woke up to having a twitching/fluttering feeling under the middle of my right rib

its feel's like its coming from an organ rather then the muscle and its been continuous all day , sometimes increasing frequency.

I had already booked an appointment to see my doctor before i felt this sensation

because in the last month iv been noticing a heavy feeling at the middle at the bottom of my ribs

and a throbbing/pulsing  feeling coming from this area too, and iv noticed at times im tightening my stomach muscles

as if i'm holding my belly in (i'm skinny so this isn't something i would normally do) but the weird thing is i don't realise i'm do'in it

its like my body's do'in it on its own for some reason.

lately iv been eatiing take-ways like every day, as iv been getting paid daily and never find the time to go food shopping

and iv been getting belly ache when i eat spicy food (i always eat spicy food and have never had a problem with it before now)

and its rare for me to drink water

so i was thinking alone the lines of it being a stomach ulcer ??

or something wrong with my large intestine ??

well in the end i hope we all get well soon ! xx

 =]

25yo male. I have the pulse/twich towards the top of my ribs (left side), closer to the center of my chest. the pulse is almost on top of the ribs. when i put my hand over it and push, the pulse almost feels about the size of a nickel. i've been under a lot of stress the past month. I went to the gym the day before it started and did an ab machine for the first time in about a year.. sounds like what a lot of other people said.

Interesting to see everyone's responses.  I searched topic out as I seem to be one of many who are experiencing this strange weird fluttering (eye twitchy feeling) near the bottom of my left ribs.  It's been happening steadily through out the days for a few days now.  It doesn't hurt.  Today, it seemed to travel down my abdomen a bit and then rose back to the left ribcage area.  One person wrote their Doc mentioned it could be and intestinal thing.  I suspect this could be the case for since I felt it travel lower today.  I have been feeling a bit nausiated, with some mild heart burn the last few days as well.  Possibly related.  Gonna ride it out for a bit.

I am soooo glad to hear I am not the only one. I am a 38 year old male that does moderate activity. The spasms started about a week ago. They seem to be more noticeable when laying down but it has been almost non stop for a week. I feel like a complete id**t going to the doctor for this. I am going to increase my water intake and eat some bananas to see if that helps. Does anybody notice if it gets worse after eating.... or eating certain foods????? I cant seem to find a trigger but it does get worse after I eat.

I've had same fluttering sensation, specially when lying down or eat. I noticed yesterday that when I cought it out, felt relieved. I thought it must be some flem oecause I had pneumonia several years ago and some of the symptoms linger, so I've heard. It can be also the lack of gastrointestinal juices which causes heartburn, so I decided to eat or drink more products that contain acids such as pineapple, lime, oranges and the best papaya and Greek yoghurt!

Hello, I'm 26 y/o male with a good history of physical fitness and gym activity (powerlifting specifically). I was doing dips several years ago and popped my sternum, and to this day I have minor spasms in the spot being discussed. Occasionally I've had stronger ones that make me super paranoid and seek medical help, but I've had two heart exams and one *very* intense stress test, and the heart doctor said everything looked fine. I'm experiencing symptoms as I type this! It occurs / has occurred... - After slouching in front of a computer - Bending while twisting (think tying shoelaces with one foot on a chair, standing and bent over) - When laying flat on my back on a hard surface, like a floor or mat - Sitting for extended periods of time (movies, etc) - Overhead exercises (pullups, pulldowns, etc)

I recently had an emergencyy appendectomy and about a week later I called the surgeon and gave him the same description," it feels like a baby's foot moving inside me just under right rib it moves from right to left." He said it couldn't be gas that usually dissapates about two days after surgery, said if it felt life threatening go to the ER. Ten days later back in the ER, admitted with infection and abscess of the surgical area, 3 days later the abscess was aspirated, no pus thank God...3rd time back to ER pain in chest and right arm, no blood clots, released and sent home. Throughout this fluttering, balloon filling feeling coming and going under my right ribcage. On the way to cardiologist recommended by my Dr. after telling her that I had shortness of breadth and several nightmares where either something sitting on my chest, being strangled, etc, told her to please check xray taken of my lungs, she said that info from the hospital didn't include findings of chest xray, she said she would ck with the hospital and get back to me which she never did! picked up my records from the hospital before seeing the cardiologist( I requested a pulmonologist!) found that I had a partially collapsed right lung with fluid!!!!cardiologist sent me for echocardiogram and suggested pulmonologist....xray showed mild chronic interstitial lung disease, no evidence of atelectasis(lung collapse) sent for ct of lungs, results this monday the 19th of may....now feeling of movement dominant under right rib but has spread under left rib, not painful but scary because feels like inflating and getting bigger each time, shortness of breadth continues. Can"t do to much....All this began post surgery which was march 28.......Anyone?

I've been having same feeling as if a baby was kicking but I have also been diagnosed with costcodritis which means the left side of my rib cage is inflamed so not sure if it has anything to do with that

oh , I feel real good to know that your symptoms are exactly what I have been experiencing. I started to think it was spiritual and it was an evil spirit dwelling in me, it feels like it moves when it wants and stops and I have no control .
