In my case, the pain and fluttering under my rib cage was definitely due to a muscle spasm caused by doing too many sit ups. The doctor eventually prescribed Merebrevin which is a muscle relaxant. It worked.
As an aside, I also get fluttering in my stomach if I take Ibuprofen over a prolonged period . I have been told that this is common.

All day today ive like fluttering where my rib cage is feels like baby fluttering from inside its a bit strange wonder what it is
I guess its due to working out a muscle group hard after a long time
My thoughts exactly. I even recorded it to show the hubbs!!!
I'm a 36yr old female and I get the same thing, I don't think it has anything to do with what you're eating as I only eat once or twice a day and the spasms seem to go on all day on and off for a week now (an what i eat doesnt really change)..sitting, standing, laying down it doesn't matter and it's weird cause I can actually see the twitching, honestly I think it's due to stress or not drinking enough water..only difference I noticed in my life is more stress and weight loss, it's just a guess nothing im too worried about its more annoying than anything.
Omg i really thought their was like spidar babys or something. Glad to know im just paranoid. Anybody know was causes this ? Its really annoying and very persistent
Hpylori perhaps!?

Did you ever find out what the cause is? The last week I have had that fluttering sensation in and under my left breast. It is very disturbing. I have 'gastric' issues and the problem seems to come mostly after I eat but it lasts and lasts. I'm trying to figure out if it is a new complication of my gastric issues or if I need a cardiologist for this. I did NOT take my Zantac today. Also I have a home style BP cuff and I have a 'normal' heart rate and BP. This is scary.
I've been having this same sensation and yes, it does seem to be more prevalent after eating. The more I'm aware of it, the more it bugs me and thus, anxiety. I'm thrilled to read that so many people are experiencing it and I'm not going nuts.
Yes. It's wierd. I want to ignore bc it doesn't hurt but the fluttering makes me nervous. And the area feels like I have a bruised muscle.
Thanx your answer helped a lot. I'm in bed most of time to and not working out. Got that same feeling on the exact place
Had similar problem - irregular trembling visual "pulse" under the bottom center of the rib cage. I believe it to be muscle spasms. Annoying, but with careful recovery harmless.
Causes are - doing abs or stomach exercises after being inactive for some time, eating bananas (mineral imbalance), stress, not sleeping enough, "overexercising your heart rate".
Cures - sleep well, drink plenty of water, avoid eating bananas, dont eat your stomach full (pressures the area), and do daily low/medium pulse exercises like fast walking (avoid overdoing) and finally eat some magnesium rich food.
This makes the most sense, thank you. I played some basketball after a long time of not playing and ive had this constant irritating twitch in the same spot.
I get the same feeling, I had a sonogram done. I was diagnosed with fatty liver. gall bladder which I thought was the source was fine.
it could be your liver breaking down fats. I had the exact same problem. I changed my diet and started. anarobic exercise. I also started taking liver supplements. what a difference.
