Hi, im Duncan and im 16 years old, my penis has never had any problems but i have never been able to fully retract my foreskin and I have been scared lately since ive been reading up on some things saying that i might have to go to a doctor... :-( frankly im quite nervous to tell a doctor much more my parents...i was hoping if there was some way i could do something at home without anything medical just some way to slowly but surely get it to where my foreskin will be able to retract correctly. I am thoroughly scared of hurting myself because i can stretch it some but eventualy (about 1-2 cm) it begins to hurt please help me!!
Hi Duncan,
First of all, it is completely normal for a 16 year old to not be able to fully retract his foreskin.
You do need to stretch it though. Yes, it may hurt a bit but you don't have to pull it that hard. Use some lubrication, maybe olive oil or hand cream, or do it in the shower. The more you stretch it, the looser it will get. As you stretch skin, it grows new cells. Don't ever force your foreskin back though. It can get stuck and that will mean an emergency trip to the doctor.
Keep stretching. If you do it every day you should see results quickly.
Post back and let us know how you're doing. Good luck.

Just read your post medic-dan, and ill start trying that ill repost later after a few days, also one other question how often should i be doing this a day? thanks a bunch btw
You're welcome.
Do it as often as you can. The more you do it, the faster it will get loose. Just go easy. If it gets sore, give it a break.
keep us posted.

Well, im happy to say that past 2 days i experimented and today i tried to do wat u said and it finally retracted !! (un-erect) i also noticed that besides just one part of foreskin which is just a verysmall ring around the whole thing, every other part of the skin is elastic, just that one part is tighter than the others and i did that without and lubricant also, so im sure if i keep working at it everyday i can get it to retract when im erect too, just that one part needs to be stretched i suppose, so ill keep u informed and hopefully within a week or so i can get it to retract back and forth easily, thnx a bunch btw medic-dan, u really helped me a lot :-)
Thanks for letting us know.
Just remember not to force it. If it gets stuck it can cause problems, look up paraphimosis.
Give it a little time.
Good luck, Dan

Hey, sorry for bothering u again but i was doing a little reading an saw that this procedure called preputioplasty (no im not considering it yet) was something that "fixed" phimosis in males, i saw some pictures and wenever im not erect (i can only retract my foreksin wen im not-erect so far) my penis looks almost exactly like that it has a "waist" of some sort and i think i can eventually loosten it up like i have been but just wanted ur opinion if u think it might be "needed" if my penis is that way or if it is possible to rid this problem with just daily stretching, thanks a bunch
Duncan, you are not bothering me, not by any means.
I don't think you need any surgery. Certainly not now. Try the stretching first and give it some time.
Remember, you are 16. Things take time to grow/change. You are still growing and still developing. You are going to be changing a lot physically in the next couple of years. Despite everyone saying puberty is over at 18, you may find things changing for a long time afterwards, especially with hair growing in new places.
Your penis may not be done growing yet either. You will find that the skin gets looser as you get older. It just happens. At your age I would not recommend any surgery unless you make an appointment to see a urologist first. They can tell you what needs, if anything, to be done.
So, wait and see what happens when you're older.
Good luck, Dan
