So glad other people experience this too. My smell does not happen every time I sneeze, just occasionally. I had my tonsils removed over 40 years ago, I do not suffer from allergies and nothing else that seems to trigger it, it's just hit or miss. It is a really gross smell, foul/musty. Prior to realizing that sneezing brought it on, I would ask others if smelled a foul smell of any sort. I hate it---just so weird.
Yup he's right, cleaning out ur mucus from ur sinus solves this
Family member has foul smelling sneeze caused by major infection in sinus cavities caused by gum infection from dead wisdom teeth.
I've had really bad smelling sneezes for as long as I can remember. My friends always look at me crazily when I mention it or ask if they experience the same thing, and it's pretty frustrating!
Anyways, I recently brushed my teeth--around 11 minutes ago--and I sneezed a few minutes after while reading this thread and holy smokes! NO SMELL! I guess for me it could just be recurring bad breath, but you never know!

Thank you for posting! My condition is almost identical to what you have described. I will be getting a neti pot tomorrow.
Truly speaking cleaning yor nose three sets 5 times aday can help you because when you dont blow your nose regularly stinking bacteria trap in nasal cavity and can cause this sort of problems iam a muslim and before every 5 times prayers we do this step in wasu every time and we dont get this hope so it will help if u try
Your post made me laugh, you should be a writer !
Thanks for this post. The smell of taking leaves is exactly it, and I couldn't place it. It was musty but not foul. At least now I know other people deal with this.
it could be an inflammation or bacterial infection in the nose, have you had tests to see if that's so?
I have very smelly sneezes and don't have any clue why.
I exactly defined the smell of my sneeze as smell of a honey-candy. Now its pretty close to bee wax, so I think it is more common than you think, just most of the people are not familiar and it is a hard to describe smell. Close to leather, dumb animal hair smell.

Whenever I smell that musky sweetness, 90% of the time it's the first sign of a sinus infection.
U deserve an award. That was funny
what if you dont have tonsils but are still witnessing your sneezes having a funky smell
If the smells are sweet they say it could be a sign of diabetes. You should probably get it checked out to be safe.
