gall bladder post-op hernia?

I had my gallbladder taken out two years ago. Now I have a hernia larger than a baseball. My doctor ignored it until I went to another doctor. He did surgery and said it was attached. He said he will get with three more surgeons and they will all be on the same page when they make a decision. I don't trust anyone right now. I just have to live with it until they decide what to do.

Sounds like a hernia. You may not think it bothers you, but the pain can be referred from the front to the side and in my case even the back. Once the hernia was gone, the side and back pain were gone.

My pain has always been on the right side from my neck to arm but test showed it was gallbladder so it was taken out. Once in a while I have the same symptoms as before surgery on the left side.

I had the same operation in 1998 I still have the same pain you are describing but the doctor says can't do anything with my hernia. I wish he could have five minutes of the pain I'm sure he would think differently.

I have been living this night mare for 3 years my hernia was insisional.from.gallbladder surgery to start feeling l8me a freak.these days because I now have 2very large hernias and suff3r b9well blocag3s over and over. Had emergency surgery for blockage that started after hernia repair now the mess has come to and thru abdominal skin and now m6 intestines.are very close to rupture state.I've had 7 surgeons refuse to help fix this and I'm fat cause of op3n painful ulcers all over my stomach they bleed and I've been.on antibiotics the last year nothing has healed them yet. Just getting more that has me unable to do anything its like these docters do a rush repair disfigure your belly on me isnt seen my stomach is bigger than 9 months going in delvery. Just totally viewable even in a moo moo type of gown. So a lot is surgeons errors or rushing and if both its the messed up mesh.they use
But.all they say is lose weight but how its so painful I cant.ev3n sleep anymore. To walk mak3some sweat which irritatescthes3 ulcers where mesh was visabe and like a million needles being.to my skin and then it.got infected.3 years ago still trying to get fixed and so many surgeries have me dying and nobody will fix me after cancer.and beating it after being stage 3 and life was expected to be 5 years from start of.it so I did chemo trail to let others find cures since other types only prolong life. Well I'm now considered.cancer free since 2007. But for this life of pain and imbarrassment as.a fat ass from no activity because I'm a ball or tired over inflating ready to just burst open.

I agree if your doctor cannot find the problem, find another doctor. If you do not like the answer your doctor is giving you. Find another doctor. You should not have to be in pain. Good Luck.

I had my gall bladder removed (along with sack of large gall stones) on Nov 10, how soon can I have groan hernia surgery afterwards and safely avoid infection from previous surgery??

As I read through your post, I feel the need to hug you and advise you to see a completely different doctor out of your area. Maybe research someone whom ONLY specializes in your tipe of situation. My heart breaks for you. You’re so young and shouldn’t have to feel that way.

Was it a hernia?

Did you see another Dr for more opinions? Hernia repairs should not kill anyone.

I have exactly the same. Had my GB out in December 2017. I do exercise and ballet and it’s a hard bulge after exercise, coughing, or ballet class, or, ahem, it bulges during a bowel movement. Stings on occasion but only to the touch. No real pain in that area at all. I am relieved I am not the only one!
