I had gallbladder surgery the last day of March. I have indigestion about three- five days a week. Sometimes I wake up with indigestion. Tums do not work. I also have pain after I eat cheese. I feel like I am constipated more than I should be. Sometimes I don't sleep well, because of my stomach. It isn't great pain, just enough to cause discomfort. Is this normal and if so, how long before things change?
I remember my stomach being sore after gallbladder removal it was over 3 years ago so I cant say for how long I'm thinking almost 3 months maybe more. I still get pains like I did before not as bad though, pretty much anything that bothered me before surgery still bothers me somewhat to this day and I have chronic diarehea from having it removed as well doctor told me that was normal.

You may have something some doctors recognize as a food allergy Cholecystitis. In this theory, certain foods cause a reaction by the gallbladder similar to a gallbladder attack. The foods that most commonly produced symptoms in decreasing order of occurrence include eggs, pork, onions, fowl, milk (possibly cheese), coffee, citrus, corn, beans, and nuts. If you are still having problems with indigestion even following your gallbladder removal, I would talk to your doctor about food allergies. This theory was developed by a Dr. J. C. Breneman in 1948.
Hope this helps
