What can I do to feel like myself again and not so tired , taking so much medince.
:( oh wow u people have me scared to death. I was told that i have stones and need my gallbladder taken out. I am worried about something bad happening to me like in ya'll stories. I can't afford to be down or disabled. I have 4 kids to chase after. but the pain when i eat is unbearable. the cost for this surgery is high and i have no insurance. I am just at my wits end on what to do. Is there a natural way to get rid of stones? and keep them from coming back?? HELP PLZ>KK
I had keyhole gallbladder surgery back in 2002, been suffering swelling and pain in the missing gallbladder area ever since, it has destroyed my life and practically my will to live.
I had a whole body MRI done for other reasons later and was never told the doctors use staples! I must have 15 big staples inside me.
I thought they sewed us with stitches!
Now I think I know what the pain is, either the stitches are poking at my lung sac or other organs or I am allergic to surgical steel.
I know if I wear surgical steel pierced earrings my ears holes get inflamed.
I would have paid more for gold staples, I have no trouble with gold.

Hi.... I've been reading all of the posts. I had my gallbladder removed June 13, 2008. I was doing great 3 days later, so much so that my doctor said I could start walking again since it was something I did everyday, at least 6 miles a day. I started walking Mon. June 16. All of the sudden on Friday June 20th, I was in horrible pain, more pain that what my gallbladder had given me before surgery. I was taken to the ER, they sent me home after tests showed I "only" had fluid in my stomach. They said "oh it could have been an ovarian cyst that burst {yet my pain was all from the middle of my stomach over to the right side, not down where my ovaries are}. I was put in the hospital again the following week, they ran test after test, coming up with nothing but fluid again. I was sent home to heal by myself with only a few meds. One doctor did say, it could be a cut in your liver from the surgery, but we can't be sure. I'm STILL having alot of pain... it's right under my right rib cage and the pain still radiates up into my right shoulder. Laughing makes it hurt, deep breaths makes it hurt, laying down hurts.... I still can't lay on my sides to sleep because it feels like something is ripping in there. I did some painting last week with a roller, and the next day I was hurting even more, all I could think was maybe it was from stretching that side so much to reach. Could someone please tell me what you think this is? I want to go back to the doctor, not the same one... I'm not living in a different state, which actually makes me feel a little better. I'd like to know, if this is a cut liver, how long does it take to heal? I am so tired of waiting to feel 100% again... Help please
This group is about having a severed bile duct or biliary duct, from botched gallbladder surgery. We can discuss the aftermath, because it is important to know what to expect, and all possible results. Of course, there will be reconstructive surgery, but there is so much more. Life will never be the same for the person who has this happen, nor for family members. It is important to have a meeting place with others experiencing this, so we can share with each other and have information shared together. It could save the lives and it can also help the spouses, etc. Feel free to ask questions or to introduce yourself and we will attempt to help each other.
I had a gallbladder surgery go wrong.Back in 04' i had my gallbladder removed. In the process the Doctor nicked my liver and took of a good chunk of it.I came out of that surgery having horrible pains and extremely high fevers with hallucinations. No one knew what to do,so they sent me via ambulance to another hospital and they did not know what to do either. They sent me back and then i was sent to yet another hospital where they did get me into surgery. The doctor put a stint in me,by that time bile had spread all over my body and infected alot of my organs. The stint was helping and after some time they got the bile out of my system. The scar tissue of my liver basically grew around my stint which scared me to even get the stint removed. Finally i had it removed and they had to jerry rig a tube coming out of my abdomen going down to my leg to a bag that filled up with bile every 15-20 minutes. When i had the stint removed it was an emergency surgery and i came real close in losing my life.It scares the heck out of me every time i have to get it checked out.I have to have it checked out once a year and its about that time. Any way just wanted to share some of my story I read every ones gallbladder stories and i feel for every one of ya and wish ya the best of luck it is no fun having these problems its a nightmare sometimes.
My partner had her gall bladder removed via keyhole surgery 8 weeks ago. During the operation the surgeon damaged her liver and she has had to have a stint inserted - this after being in hospital for 10 days in hospital and having a drain to remove fluid. We have a meeting with her surgeon next week to discuss what happened. Last week she felt unwell and went to have bloods and scan done - when they went to enter the reults (which were clear) to her records on the PC it didn't even mention her going tinto hospital, having an operation or it going wrong
My father had gall bladder surgery and made it fine. The after effects were horriable though. He laid in a hospital room for a week and had swollen up to two times his normal size. The only thing the hospital staff would say is that you need to walk it off. He got to where he couldn't breath and told them numerous times that he couldn't. After a day of this he died. They revived him after 10 minutes and he was put in ICU. They drained 6 liters of bile off his stomach and said it was normal..... I think not... It ended up that he was brain dead and had to be unhooked from the machine.. So if you ever have gall bladder surgery and swell.....make them drain it out of you....
In Nov 2009 i went into hospital for day surgery to remove my Gallbladder, I was in awful pain when the nurse was trying to send me home, telling me i had wind, she called a doctor who said i should be admitted to a ward, I spent the next 72 hours in pain but being told it was wind and to get up and walk around to get rid of it, finally they decided to investigate and realised i had a bile leak, went for emergency surgery and woke up in intensive care with 4 drains in my stomach, still my liver was leaking so they tried to put a stent it but that failed too, luckily after 2 weeks in hospital the leak stopped on its own, but my parents were told if i had been sent home after the surgery like the nurse tried to do, i probably wouldnt be here today !
Sue the hell out of them...We need to stand up for each other and doctors like this are a dime a dozen...
SUE, SUE. SUE!
SUE, SUE. SUE!
After reading all the comments, opinions of different people. I now worried for my husband's operation tomorrow in RBWH he wanted to remove his gallbladder because of the severe pain he suffer all the time after he ate. . I preffer him to use natural way of cleansing the body. Detox etc. But he so stubburn. I dont know what to do if eveyrthing goes wrong tomorrow. How many days before you go back to work? Coz he want to work after 3 or 4 days after the operation.

Oh gosh reading ur stories really worries me. i had my galk bladder removed 4 weeks ago and ended up with swelling and being rushed back into hospital. i had bile leakage as they missed one of the tubes they r supposed to clip. i had an emergency op to drain the bile and also got septacemia. They drained 3 litres during surgery and a further 3 through drains in my side. I'm home now and I'm still in pain. i have a sharp stabbing pain in my right side near my ribs. i can't cough sneeze laugh or breathe without getting the pain. its painful when lying on my right side too yet the "professionals don't know what it is so just put it down to a strain which is a load of rubbish. any suggestions guys
Don't let idiots who get their medical knowledge from the internet tell you that your gallbladder can't harm you or that it can be cured with time and treatments. I was believing I could heal my gallbladder disease too and it almost killed me. I was rushed to the ER it severe abdominal pain, scheduled surgery for the next day and they pulled out a necrotized gallbladder. It had literally died inside me and was becoming gangrene, it could have spread to my other organs. So listen to the people with a medical degree and get it out when you can, if you are in pain, like I was. Luckily I was living in the states when I had mine out and in one of the top hospitals in the country. I can pretty much eat anything I like now, without problems . Occasionally I do have bouts of IBS like symptoms but that may be unrelated. Good luck!
Hi i had the same thing happend to me n i was just woundering after so long how do u feel now ling term??
