Hi everyone. I am a 22 year old mother of a 6 month old baby girl. I have been putting this off since she was born, and I dont think I can put it off any longer, but I am SCARED TO DEATH.
I have one "small" external hemorrhoid, and a rectal fissure. I have no idea which is more painful but I can tell you I CAN NOT deal with this any more.
I was advised at my six week check up that I would need to see a surgeon, of course he recomended I have the surgery. I put if off and tried the Nitro paste. I did really well, for about three more months. Last week the fissure tore again while having a BM. And now the hemorrhoid is super irriteted.
I was scheduled for tomorrow morning for the surgery, but found out yesterday I have streap throat, and now can not have the surgery for two more weeks. I have been unable to find any pain meds that work. I refuse to take narcotics and become addicted. The PCN I am taking for the streap is making me sick, and NOW I have a yeast infection, probably from all the sitz baths I am trying to keep up with for the pain.
My biggest concern is I am in SO much pain, and the meds are making me so sick, I have pretty much sworn off food, except Boost shakes and lots of luquids. I figured it would be best anyway not to have BMs for a few days after the surgery anyhow, plus my throat was too sore to eat solids.
Now that I found out I have to WAIT two weeks, I really dont know if I can. Im scared to eat. Im terrified to poo. I make my husband sit outside the bathroom when I go b/c Im afraid Ill pass out from the pain, or worse yet bust a hemorrhoid and bleed out. ( I had to go to the ER to get them to stop the bleeding once already, which is the ONLY reason I went back to the surgeon).
Im scared. PLEASE tell me this is for the best, and I will get better after. :'(

Try Metamucil....it was the only thing that gave me relief
Anybody had to go off narcotics 2 weeks prior to surgery? How to do that easily?
