I have been suffering from gum pain, itching and burning for 3 months. I initially went to the dentist assuming it was a dental problem. He could not find any problem relating to my symptoms. I also checked with other dentists who had agreed. I then went to my doctor who told me I have severe congestion in my eustachian tubes. I only had slight pain in my ears occasionally. The pain is more in my gums. I have taken augmentin which did not help. I then experienced vertigo for about an hour. My doctor then prescribed Zithromax which did seem to relieve some pain and I no longer feel there is infection but the gum pain comes and goes. My dentist did a Panarex xray on a day after I had taken Claritin D for the pain. It did help my gum pain and the xray showed no sinus congestion, tumors cysts or any problems with my teeth. I can still feel the fluid in my ears and feeling gum pain. It is relieved by Claritin D. I was told that the eustachian tubes are connected to this pain and this is going around and can take up to 4 months to go away? Is this correct?
So what is the solution to pain caused by Eustachian tube congestion?
