I'm the same person who posted here earlier on 02/22/09 - 15:12.
So these bone bumps/lumps on forehead are solid and don't move anywhere. These can be named either a bone exostosis (a new bone formats on the bone surface) or osteoma (a new piece of bone grows on another piece of bone). Though, I don't know what is the main difference between those terms. Also may be called as some kind of bone tumor - not dangerous though.
The only way to remove bone lumps is done by (plastic) surgery as far as I know. Surgeon incises skin 1-2 inches over hair line and wrappes it so that the bone and the lump emerge. Then lump is carefully smoothed down with power drill or file, I don't know for sure.

Has anyone heard of a bump appearing on the head years after a concussion? Is there anything, besides surgery, that can be done? Should I get a second opinion from another doctor?
sry for repeat.
the pain maybe from lack of sleep or something else but i highly doubt it. email me if u have had similar issues or have any idea wat this lump could be. thx a bunch peeps
The plastic and cosmetic doctor told me that it was a "lipoma" (a fat cell). It was common for some people, and it was up to me if I want to remove I will do it for me; or I can leave it. Go and see on YouTube many people have them and see how the surgery has been done.
I did remove it on November 2009 because the longer I wait the more will cost to remove. Now I look handsome again because no more lump on my forehead.
Picked up my papers from the doctor's office today about my CT scan of the lump on my forehead.
This is what it said: "There is prominence of ventricular system and extraventicular CSF spaces. There are mild nonspecific periventricular and subcortical white matter changes. There are calcifications along the anterior falx. There is an 8 mm in transverse x 3 mm in AP dimension exostosis in the right frontal bone anteriorly just deep to BB marker. Visualized paranasal sinuses are clear. There are vascular calcifications.
Impression:
1. Parenchymal volume loss.
2. Mild nonspecific periventricular and subcortical white matter changes most likely related to small vessel ischemic disease.
3. Small exostosis in the right frontal bone just deep BB marker.
4. Calcifications along the anterior falx which were visible on the prior radiograph of the skull from 11/25/2009 and of probably of a limited clinical significance."
its like they are attached to my skull and extend back into my head
i have had them since i was 12 and don't remember hitting my head on anything
i have no idea what they are
So I thought it must have been a cyst.
Being as it was gone I thought nothing of it any more.
But recently, it's come back. Looks and feels exactly the same as it did the first time I noticed it. So now I don't whether to have it checked out or whether to just leave it and hope it goes the same way as it did the first time. Although I hope it doesn't grow as I experienced some discomfort from it, especially if I ever banged it on something.
It seems strange how I cannot find any medical advice online for this problem. This forum is the only thing I've found on it.
if anyone knows a good physician or anyone that actually knows any more of this can you get the person to write something in this site.
And im not looking for someone who's going to sugarcoat the truth...i just want some answers.
again if anyone finds a knowledgeable person please get him/her to put up a useful post.
i have this bump on my left forehead, i have been having it for like 7 years now, since i was 10 years old, i remember i hit my head on a wall veery hard, and by then when i first got it, it was a lot bigger then it is now, its kind of gotten smaller, but its kind of embarrassing to walk with it, through i dont think that people see it through, i asked my friend 6 years after i got it, if he could see the bump on my head, and then he noticed it, because i told him, he never noticed it, then he was like what is that, so thats the good part its not very noticeable (:
still i would like to get it removed :-(
its like a hard bone
