Exactly the same thing happened to my puppy...poor thing couldn't even hold it in..her poop became so liquidy... absolutely would not recommend..she's only had 2 (1 a day) and she's been having diarrhea all day
I bought DentaStix for our healthy, 50 pound Blue Heeler last night. The instructions say to give them no more than one per day and make sure there's plenty of fresh water available for them to drink. I gave her one, she ate it, then immediately began salivating profusely. Her salivation lasted for several hours. I will NEVER give her another one.
That's because it's not recommended for small dogs. READ THE BOX. GEEZ
I have been feeding my dogs dentastix for 2 months now, OH BOY! my Cocker has been seriously ill with a huge stomach bleed and had to have his tummy opened up to see what the problem was! Well it is dentastix as in bits of them stuck to the lining of his stomach and one jagged piece cut into his stomach. Now two weeks on he has relapsed vomiting bits of dentastix still so now today having his stomach washed out to get rid of the last bits. I am not saying this will happen to your dog but personally we won't be giving them to the dogs anymore. I cannot believe how ill they made my dog even the vet said due to severe blood loss he may not make it....but he did and the vet bill is already £1500 and still have today's procedure to add on!! Just as well we have good insurance.
Hi. We fed my dog dentastix for a few weeks and nothing happened but as we kept feeding her them she started vomiting and got diarrhea and eventually it became a daily thing. It became so bad that eventually the only way that she could expell waste was through vomit. She lost 20 pounds and we thought that we would need to put her down very soon. Than eventually we realized that it must have been the treats and when we took them away from her she recovered a bit later.
I'm 11 years old and I decided to share this with you because it can save a dogs life. PLEASE DO NOT FEED YOUR DOGS DENTASTIX.
I AGREE! My dog is experiencing diarrhea. I won't be giving him anymore.
My dog's vet always commented on how clean and healthy his teeth were. I told her about the dentastix I gave him daily and she had no problem with it. Long story short, on August 15th I had to put my best friend down due to a large tumor in his mouth that was restricting his air way and the cancer quickly spread to his lungs. I am kicking myself right now and wishing my vet knew anything or I had done the research. Please, anyone that loves their animals as much as I loved this dog, please throw away the dentastix now.
My dog has eaten dentastix every day as a treat. Last year he was diagnosed with parathyroid a rare disease he had surgery and was ok. I just took him to the vet and they said he might have it again. I think it might be the fantastic. He is 23lbs so he gets 2 toybreed sticks a day. Has anyone ever hear this reaction?
Thank you for sharing this. we have fed our two dogs dentastix before but today one of them ate both of the stix. she has been acting ill all morning now and i decided to research online to see if dentastix could have been the problem. I'm so glad I checked this out. I will watch her closely for any other symptoms of GI distress and they will never have those again.
Hi we had to put our dog down as she had a liver Tumor which was bleeding out. Not sure but reading a few sites about dentastix and liver cancer there is a possibility as we use to give it to her and now i remember she use to get sick and throw up every time she had them and we stopped giving it to her but iI guess it was too late.. I would not risk it.
I brought dental sticks by heart and trail im sure it all works the same.. I gave it to my dog and now he been having diarrhea for days. Going to vet in a few days.. My dog has been very much in good health up to now.
His poop is watery and uncontrollable.
I will never buy any dental sticks again..

Pedigree isn't just for every dog. I've been feeding my dog all the pedigree products for years and she's perfectly healthy. The stix have her teeth clean and white. Every dog reacts to every food product differently. I was looking for symptoms of liver disease, and she has none.
This product also gave both of my dog severe reactions made them both extremely sick couldn't keep food down couldn't keep water down. I ended up of course discontinuing the dentastix and feeding both of them plain white rice with plain boiled skinless chicken breast until they were able to go back to their regular diet. This product should never ever be given to any dogs
Wow first of all, you’re not supposed to give more than one dentastix a day to your dog. They’re not a “regular” treat, if his dog was hungry he should have given him something else. I suggest that the next time that you have a concern about your dog, call a vet and stop listening to your godfather.
