Hi all... I have been battling a rash on my stomach folds of skin for the first time. It does itch and it is so red and ooozy of clear fluid.
Dr said it was yeast, so picked up the OTC creams you talk about here.
My question... When it gets a little better I incorporate your suggestions to keep dry, however the rash comes back worse as it has never completely clear. Is it time top go back to dr after a month of this? Is there anything I can take orally? I'm afraid it's infected and cellulitis is inevitable. Powder seems to just make a gummy mess with it being wet from sweat and lack of air. Last, three areas that have somewhat healed however, I am left worth what looks like small skin tags. Had anyone experienced this result as well? Thank you all for the ideas.

I have had this problem also, and find using powder and/or cornstarch helps in keeping it good through the day. But when it is red and really sore, I wash it really well with soap and water, and then let it dry really well before bed. Then, because it's cracked and sore and really red, I apply a finger full of petroleum jelly and spread it over the affected area. By the morning the soreness is gone and then redness has lessened.. Wash with soap and water again in the morning to get all of the petroleum jelly off, and leave it dry...then wash and dry again through the day.. By bedtime the next night it's all cleared up and I can wash/dry and start using the powder again.

I've gotten a rash under my breasts when I live in my pajamas It has an odour. The skin on skin causes this rash. The doctor wrote me a Rx for a cream that helped. I'm trying to get the pharmacist to figure out the name of the cream and refill the prescription as I've broken out again. A nurse that was doing house callsvafter my heart surgery left a box of cloth with silver in it here. You put the cloth on top of the rash. Its very expensive but works.

I bought strips of soft cloth from a catalog (Carol Wright or Dr Leonard's?). They come in different widths - one for under your bra and the other for the belly. The size is just the length; I bought a really big size, and they are too long! But they work anyway. Just treat any skin problem and use them just before putting on undergarments. On those really hot days, I carry a spare in my purse to be able to keep area dry.
For treatment, at first I used the diaper rash zinc treatment creams. They were better than nothing, but hard to wash hands or apply to sore areas. My doctor gave me an Rx for an anti-fungal, which stops itching . Much stronger than you can get over the counter. But once I was healed, I tried Gold Bond Ultimate Healing CREAM, not powder. It's fantastic, with aloe: "penetrates fast, non-greasy, hypoallergenic, fresh clean scent." I use it daily, but only need the cloths if hot days or I'm out for hours.
I sure wish women learned more about these issues before they arise. And how much that uncomfortable girdle would keep the belly up where it belonged in the first place!
Does anyone know of a garment for the very large, heavy fallen "apron" of a belly to pull it back into place, without all the difficulty and straight-laced feeling of girdles? Kind of like a bra for the tummy!?

Corn starch feeds the fungus that generally causes this condition. I would not use it. Tried it at one time and it exacerbated the condition.

I also have this yeast type of rash. I have lost a lot of weight, but I'm left with a lot of loose skin. This flap of skin traps moisture, but I now have noticed many black growth that I don't know what they are does anyone else have this problem?

I also am left with skin tags but their dark brown and multiply does anyone know what they are called and can they be removed?

The problem is a fungus, of course. I found an antifungal in -- don't laugh -- a jock-itch spray from Walgreens, also in treatment for athlete's foot. Works very well and reasonably priced. Probably best not to overuse, only as needed.
