Headache Virus???

My six year old in WI is going through this. Nothing was mentioned at the schools. Started with the headaches and vomiting, then got a fever for three days, back to headaches and vomiting with a lot of coughing. He's on week two. Glad I saw these posts because I was starting to worry.

hello i had a headache for 5days stright none stop. i am happy i find this hope your son is feeling better. i bealve this is contageous becasue everyone i work with had bad haedaches today. i went to the ER and they gave me IVs for 4 and a half hours iven after that i still have a little bit of a headache left and its been 3 days since the ER. but my dad hasnt got it yet so idk. it might be all in there head's idk. i am going to keep looking into this and ill see what i can find for us .

My sitter came down with it for a week. Then each of my six kids under seven have gotten it like dominoes. Massive dibilitating headache. Dizziness. Nausea. Diareah. Fever. Body aches. Chills. Vertigo. Head tipped forward and gets much worse. Not all of the kids had same symptoms. But all have had some. I got the headache and dizziness. It lasts a few weeks and does reinfect. We are bombing with Lysol hand washing laundry ing and bleaching but not much other than sleep helps.

I am feeling the same way ... My whole body shakes my head hurts dizzy Nausha very tired. Have not been to dr . Have been sick since last Friday night .. Hope he feels better... I know it's not much help with it being contagious but I have the same thing .. Pamela

hi yes i was on holiday 2 weeks ago and i started with vertigo where the room spins only when i was lying down ,next had an awfull head could not stand the light still not right now doc said the dizziness was caused by a virus going around but do not know what the virus is hope things improve soon jenn

Had a little girl at work (childcare) complain of headache and stomach ache and then she got a fever and went home. The next morning I had a headache that got persistently worse and I ended up throwing up and trying to sleep sitting up, since laying down made it worse.  I had had a headache for the three days prior to the little girls illness. I haven't thrown up today and the headache is milder.  I think I've had this for a week and only associated it with the girl's illness since she coupled the head and stomach together.  The headache was bad enough to cause nausea and vomiting with diarrhea as well.

Howdy... Our family of 9 has had this as well, everyone responded a little different...

Momma I NEVER have headaches maybe 3 my whole life (45 yrs)Vice grip headach for 3 days (one day I laid in bed that's it) / exhaustion for 2 more... bad sore throat 3 days. resp. cough x 5 days

child 6 stiff neck (or swollen sore gland) fever 101, lethargic one day... that's it (3 YRS)

child 5 BAD ear ache, crying all day no fever- next day fine nothing else (5 yrs)

child 3 tired x 2 days, sore throat x 2days more, loss of voice x2 days,  barely visable fine like heat rash-itchy (8 yrs)

child 4 bad sore throat x 3 days  headache-down in bed 2 days with the pain (this child never stops!) barely visable fine like heat rash (8 yrs)

child 2 sore throat x 3 days, barely visable fine like heat rash on day 6 itchy, headache severe 2 days, respiratory/ cough x 5 days-weak lungs (11 yrs)

child 1 sore throat x 2 days, head ache x 1 day  exhaustion x 8 days!- this child never gets sick (14 yrs)

child  baby runny nose, grumpy??? poor thing, who knows what she felt

Daddy ear ache and head ache x 3 days, tired

 

THERE WAS A 10 DAY GAP BETWEEN THE FIRST CHILD TO CONTRACT THIS AND THE REST OF THE FAMILY, FROM HER FIRST SYMPTOM TO THE NEXT PERSON SHOWING SYMPTOMS, OTHERS OF US GOT IT LIKE DOMINOS AFTER THAT.

 

There are many others that are around us that have it as well... we have isolated ourselves  x 2 weeks  and have not seemed to pass it on to anyone we know.

Yes this nasty bug is running its course on my 6 year old this week. It started with my 14 year old then my 4 year old. Hopefully my 8 month old doesn't get it. Good Luck!

Yes I have had these symptoms for 3 years and finally getting an MRI to see if they can find the cause. My immune system has been low for 3 years because of it. I've had numerous blood tests and they can't find the cause as yet. I caught this (I think it's a virus) in Bali over 3 years ago. Lesley

They don't know what this bug is... I just took my 3 yr old to our urgent care because she was complaining about her head hurting.. and all they gave her was a nausea pill...I'm still trying to figure out what to do about these headaches because Tylenol and motrin doesn't seem to be helping.

I got it this weekend starting on 9/7/13 - (South Shore Massachusetts) It Started on friday -

I thought it ran it's course by sunday so I went back to work on monday then at 5:45 monday it came back with a shivvery vengence hitting me in the fever and nausea dept. 

I was worried because last weekend I went through having a blocked intestine, I thought I might have torn something inside and was going slightly ceptic.  Good to know others are experiencing it, makes me think my abdomen is fine.

Excedrine will not work on the headaches - I tried

Oddly enough i just talked to a friend of mine who recently went to the ER complaining of a splitting headache and sinus dripping. They told her it was a virus (unnamed) and there was nothing they could do for her but that it would eventually resolve and go away. In the meantime her daughter and granddaughter caught the same thing. Also, I was with her last week-end and I have had a nagging headache for nearly a week now. I am heartened to hear that she had the same thing and that it finally went away. I have not had any dizzyness and she didn't mention any either. If this virus that your son has is anywhere near his ear then dizzyness would be expected. If you are notcertain of their diagnosis then by all means seek a second opinion. Always better to err on the side of caution. Best of luck.

I think I just kicked this evil thing's butt, I got super dehydrated and passed out in my bathroom one night. I have Rx
medication for migraines and it did nothing. The only thing that mildly helped was Excedrin. My body is also in pain and is
restless to sleep at night. My head pounds when I bend over. I went to the ER and was given a CAT scan, EKG,
chest Xray, blood tests and a bag of saline because I was so dehydrated.

Living in Central PA.  My 20 YO son has been down with this thing since last Thursday....no fever, severe, debilitatin headache, nausea, extreme fatigue.  First visit was to PC who said he has a sinus infection.  Second visit to the ER and the Dr. said it's a migraine....I don't believe it.  He says it's the worst headache ever......
