Sounds to me like west nile virus... it attacks the brain, stiff neck, nausa, etc. he can be blood tested for it to confirm
I have not taken my son to the doctor but he said that he is sick with an extremly bad headache no dizzyness unless he gets up and tries to move arround like normal. That was Tuesday night and Wednesday night i though my head was going to explode or i was having an annorism, crazy bad head ache. I think it is possible my son gave me this headache thing he caught.
But not like we have a diagnosis as it just happened. I was thinking it cant be the west nile as i have not been outside much always at work or in home. I have not seen mosquitos. It is actually snowing here in Utah. But you never know
I have just come back off holiday, fine yesterday, woke up today feeling sick, upset tummy and as the day has gone on I have a terrible headache and feeling dizzy, wonder if this is the same thing.
This has been going around again. My dad had it, I had it. I totally thought it was a very severe migraine, terrible headache, nausea, lightheadedness, vertigo etc. The severe headache, nausea, lightheadedness, and vertigo went away after about 3 days. But I had a normal headache for another 6 days. Then my friend's son got it, and now my friend and her husband are sick with it. All with the same symptoms. It's not norovirus because the symptoms don't match up. I just would like to know what the heck this is.
dealing with the same here. took my 11 yo to the doc today cause she has called home twice this week. they said it wasn't sinuses - as her sinuses looked clear. it wasn't necessarily a stomach bug since she never got sick either way. she just has had a blinding headache. on day 4 of it now - hoping it subsides tmrw. but everyone around here has it/has had it and nobody knows what it is :(
I seem to have this too for the last week.. I felt a migraine coming on with nausea neck ache body ache stomach ache gas etc.. I have had it off and on for a week or so .. Today it came back full blown again.. What is this ?
I really don't know what it is either, but I was fine on Saturday December 7 until 5:30pm. Then I started getting dizzy. Then I got a SEVERE headache and lots of fatigue. I also got nauseated. I never threw up. It's Monday now, and I still have a headache....not as dizzy or nauseated. I had backaches too. I couldn't eat. I feel some better, but still have a bad headache and feel weak. I hope everyone gets better soon! Let's face it...when we feel off something YUCKY has entered our bodies. I pray this stupid virus DIES soon!!!!
Yes I've got this dizziness thing and now and again the headaches come and go and so does the nausea
Hi guys. My three year old, my husband, AND myself all get this awful virus. we've had it on and off for a year. Stomach upset, stiff neck, or sore hips, or other muscle pain, photo sensitivity, and AWFUL HEADACHE. my sons eyes will weep from light sensitivity. For me, I get terrible heart palpitations. I've asked ousad doctors thousands of times ... No answers. Lomatium, the herb, shoes seem to help, but you ave to start it right away. Terrible fatigue too, and restlessness. Anyone else get aggro with this virus? It makes my son hit.
yes, I have had the same thing, minus the vomiting..bad headache sent me to the ER thinking I either had Meningitus, or a stroke. My blood pressure was 193/105 ..they did all the tests..nothing showed up..doctor said there are strange virus's going around . I have had it now for 8 days but am finally feeling better but still very tired..at least my eyes are feeling pressure and they are working together again.
I live on Orcas Island in the San Juans above Seattle. many here have the same bug..at least it is comforting to know that it is a bug.
ive had this thing for 2 weeks now but im a type 1 diabetic so always get things longer than most, ive had migraine, blurred vision, neck pain nausea but no vomiting and now the pain has moved down to my chest and stomach area, hopefully the pain moving means its on its way, horrible virus all round
My son has this too! He has had it for a week straight now and has no energy appetite and missed a full week of school. Pale and awful.

I was taken by ambulance to A&E feeling sick, eyes sensitive to light and A killer of a headache. I was admitted into hospital and I had a fever as well. I then had a CT scan a lumbar puncture. I spent 4 days in hospital to be told I have a viral headache. I have been discharged today Easter Sunday 2014 looking very pale, and still feeling dizzy.I still have no appertite and feel drained.. The doc said it will take 2 more weeks before it completley goes. A viral headache mimics Meningitis and it is scarey. NO assurance that headache like this will not return
