I have been experiencing heaviness all over my body, sometimes i feel so heavy i feel like im going to collaspe and on several occassions my legs start trembling because of the heaviness and i have to sit down. I have balance problems, when i walk i feel like something is pulling on my upper back, i sway back and forth.
I also have been getting pressure in my head, ears and throat, it is extrememly uncomfortable and just cannot seem to function when im feeling like this.
I have suffered from anxiety in the past and feeling like this is making me become anxious again.
I have recently just gotten over a virus which the docs thought what was causing the heaviness in my body but it is still persistant and its getting worse. I have spent the whole week in bed as I just feel really not well.
I am so fed up feeling like this, I am only 25 years old and have always been healthy, very out going and socialble but now i spend my days in at home and don't wanna go out coz I just cant face it!
help needed!!!

Please, everyone research Lyme disease. Your symptoms (including mental/emotional) all fit too well, as does your experience with doctors.

Heaviness is gone for me thank God. After finding and reading your posts about heaviness and unable to walk because of balance and weakness I have this to share with you. I too was extremely healthy when I started experiencing the same problems. Doctors could not explain it so they diagnosed me with stress and anxiety. I was prescribed Xanex and Zoloft. After a few weeks of taking that medicine I didn't see any improvements. In fact I felt wise. I went to a holistic natural doctor. He did a test on me and said my body had lots of toxins in it. He prescribed me natural supplements from Standard Process for digestion to help eliminate the toxins of mercury and wheat. After 3 weeks I started to feel much better. The advice I would like to give is to see a holistic doctor and eat whole fruits and vegetables. The body will repair itself with nutrients. And most importantly stop stressing. Stress will break down the body and wear it down. Drink plenty of water and avoid sugar and soft drinks such as Coke etc. Goodluck to all and have faith your body will heal in time.

You are right. The doctors don't know What The hec is going on so they chalk it to anxiety or depression. I would recommend seeing a nutritionist. Some take insurance. If severe depression IS a factor, TMS or ECT can snap u out of the depression. For nutrition, I would recommend Dr. Alice Lee in Gaithersburg, MD.

I also suffer from the same feeling as well as anxiety. What's weird is that I can workout for an hour or more on my elliptical with no problem but to go up the stairs is so hard.
I also have trouble falling asleep, sleeping through the night, and being comfortable in the same position for very long. I'm quite convinced it's all physical manifestations of anxiety. It's definitely gotten better since I started exercising regularly and eating very healthy, though it's not perfect. I also recently changed my antidepressants and that seems to have helped a bit as well.
I take meclizine 12.5 kids dose I bite it in half so can function during the day. Then a whole one at night. Also over the counter Allergy meds work just as well.
I too feel the heaviness in my body-it's hard to breathe while walking & feel exhausted. I have hypothyroidism & I do remember feeling like this in the past & had to have my meds adjusted. But my doc says all my bloodwork is fine. I also feel it's lack of oxygen to the heart & lungs-trying to get walking & doing deep breathing exercises to get the bad air out & good air in. Feel better everyone!!
Hi Jin.. I also have Graves and also have this odd heaviness, which my doctors can't explain.

Adrenal fatigue from stress and anxiety, get yourself some viatamins and see a nutritionist, they can help you, I would say the best thing also is to get yourself up and tell yourself you're not fragile. You're strong, young and healthy. :) hope this helps.
I believe you may be experiencing the symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I suggest seeing your doctor for additional support. Best of luck, and all my well wishes.
These are very, very common symptoms of anxiety and will cause you no harm. It is just the result of excess adrenaline in your bloodstream. What you are feeling is the adrenaline causing palpitations. Pain around the heart is caused by contracted muscles around the heart (caused by adrenaline). The pain of a heart attack is rarely felt in the heart. If you have been checked out (which you have) and found to be ok, believe it. You are experiencing the symptoms of anxiety, that's all. It can do you no harm at all, apart from feeling uncomfortable. Your mind, however, is also in an anxiety state. It will therefore be thinking 'catastrophically'. Everything becomes an emergency (in your mind) when in this state. Do not believe it. You are ok and will be ok. Try to ignore it. I have thought I was dying many thousands of times but I'm still here and there is nothing wrong with me. This is a very common experience for people in an anxiety state. Go and see you doctor for reassurance. They may offer you some temporary medication to help with the symptoms. Propranalol can be useful as it slows your heart rate down and sometimes this is all that you need to 'step out' of the anxiety state. Good luck and don't worry. This is a very common experience affecting thousands of people every day. It is distressing and disturbing but can do you no harm. Your heart is a very strong muscle and can easily withstand very high heart rates. Be kind to yourself as you are going through this experience. Look after yourself, get some exercise if you can, distract yourself if possible. This is not a mental illness it is a temporary overactive adrenal gland. That's all.
