i had a large kidney stone removed from my kidney. the recovery was annoying-not painful. I was back to work in 2 weeks! now, I have NO PAIN! encourage your mother to take care of herself by having the stone removed. she'll be glad she did.
Yes, it is possible in few other ways as well. For your information, many of the stones do not need surgery. It can be either removed through urinary passage, without making hole on the body or it can be removed in few more ways. Anyways, take a second opinion from other Urologist before opting for surgery.
Chanca Piedra Herb....disolves stones....Chinese Gentian Herb in combination with Bupleurum tincture & Cotis Herb... if not going to good healthfood store then Amazon has all of it...
Read up on these herbs and help yourself dissolve calcified stones naturally...
don't forget to drink tons of fresh spring or other fresh water as well as high quailty cranberry juice without added sugars or corn syrups....Ocean spray is not best option...Lakewood has organic pure cranberry juice... Cranberry tea is also available as well as cranberry extract...
do it even if you suspect family history or think you may be developing kidney calcification issues... dairy products do not help....

Avoid dehydration. Drink enough fluids to keep your urine volume at or above two litres a day. This can halve your risk of getting a second stone by lowering stone-forming chemicals.
Get quick and proper treatment of urinary infections.
Avoid too much tea or coffee. Juices may reduce the risk of some stones, particularly orange, grapefruit and cranberry.
Reduce your salt intake to lower the risk of calcium-containing stones. Don’t add salt while cooking and leave the saltshaker off the table. Choose low- or no-salt processed foods.
Avoid drinking more than one litre per week of drinks that contain phosphoric acid, which is used to flavour carbonated drinks such as cola and beer.
Always talk to your doctor before making changes to your diet.
