HOW DO I GET BCBS TO PAY FOR METHADONE GIVEN AT A TREATMENT CENTER??

Hey slick that says bcbs reimburse people. Oh YES,, I see those too,, but look at the date of their posting, back in 2014,, go try trhat in 2016 and see what they say. They WILL NOT paY

Actually in response to the last Lady use articles he's incorrect they actually are sponsored and ran by certified in specialized doctors in addiction medicine and the most important factor is that it is classified in DSM 4 as a medical necessity addiction is a chronic brain disease just like diabetes and insurance has one job and one job only to pay for his little out of pocket as possible make you jump through hoops for whatever purpose they could think of all you really need is a certified letter from the Doctor Who is in charge of the clinic and then they cannot by law partial reimbursement for the cost of the clinic on

In reading the above info I have a question. My son also has BCBS and is currently seeing a psychiatrist for ADHD and she prescribes his adderall. It would be very nice if she could also prescribe the methadone since we could get it for a fraction of the cost . Don't most psychiatrist Dr's carry the special license to prescribe methadone?

I don't know I was getting paid back and still trying to get money for 2015. I did get a check yesterday for 105.00 I called and was told they are going to resubmit my claim for review and all those months of should get some back for because o met my 1200 dollar deductible... I been on this since the start of 2016. And I have bcbs also... Thought the codes had changed if you look they have as of October 2015 yet the last 3 months of 2015 is what o got paid for well meeting the deductible and than the 105.00 so I'm completely confused myself. It's time for me to file this half of 2016 and I'm still fighting for the entire year of 2015.i feel I'm closer tho I didn't get a check finally.. So who knows but I did see the codes have changed. Yet the guy yesterday knew nothing about that. I looked up the codes me and my counselor. But mine did go thru with the old codes for 2015.... Just a waiting game yet never have I had to fight this long.. This has just been crazy several times. I wanted to just say screw it but I knew that's like over a grand I won't get either for the year

What codes did you use? Because when I submitted mine in 2014 they said they were wrong. I have never been reimbursed for anything. Last year I paid almost 6k. I'll def. try to resubmit with whatever they changed the codes to. Just curious what the old codes were that you used.

I'm also in desperate need for info on getting methadone paid for or help with it. United healthcare won't help me at all.

I had bcbs back in 2009 through 2012, I started the methadone clinic in Richmond Virginia in 2009. I had to pay for the methadone up front and keep the receipts , then I had to print out a claim form from their on line service for reimbursement of a covered prescription. Then the clinic had to put their information on the claim form , the ni ers that say they are licensed by the government. Then I sent it to bcbs. The sent me a check for almost 3000.00 which was 6 months of treatments. I am still in the clinic. But I have diff insurance, but the new Cigna company does it the same way. I've been reimbursed for almost all of my treatments. They will deduct the co pay. And I go monthly , well I go every 28 days. So the times where I have to go twice in the same month, I don't get reimbursed for. But hey, I'm not arguing.

You have to ask your insurance company for the forms to submit for reimbursement of methadone for recovery.

You can bill the insurance company for methadone use for " Substance Abuse " you simply have to call the insurance company and ask them to send you a claim for it. Barack Obama actually had something to do with getting this covered by ALL insurance providers. I am in a clinic in Virginia for almost 9 years now, clean and sober, I only have to go 1 per month, I get take homes for the rest of the month, and I pay up front, then file a claim annually , it is really nice to get a check at Christmas for almost $6000.00

I've been clean & sober since April of 2008, thanks to the Richmond Treatment Center (Methadone Clinic). I did not know about the reimbursement program until last year, you can bill the insurance company for 12 months of service in the rears, so if you have been in the clinic for 2 years, you can only recoup 12 months. But that was for me was 458 per month x 12 months = $ 5496.00 minus the 10 dollar per month co pay equals 5496 - 120 = Total Reimbursed $5376.00 It was a Verizon nice way to start off 2016!!!!!

although the patients docome in however often required, they are required to a set numbers f hours of counseling and quarterly physicals with an MD. at least in Indiana that is what the FEDERAL law requires. I dont if youthink the federal law is different in each state, but it isnt

h0020 is the code for methadone, h0022 is subutex

my united pays all butmy 30.00a week co-pay. after my deductible it pays 100%. of course that is 5000.00 so ill never meet that
