i had this in 2009 with complete right side facial paralysis, and it took 9 months to notice any improvement at all.

i have it again now, but a very mild version with only slight loss of movement on the same side.  i caught it early and am on prednisone.  i hope it clears soon, but i can at least blink my eye and my face isn't drooping.

happy freakin new year. =P

I woke up with Bells Palsy about 2.5 weeks ago, first day i was put on steroid and anti viral drugs. My gp told me just take rest and no other treatment as they do not make a difference. Yes, i asked him three times and answer was the same. I am off work now since and will be until i feel fit to go back to work. I cant stare at the computer screen for 8 hours and it is my job. However, i hve positive attitude, i eat healthy, go to the gym regularly but stioo got this BP. I see a little i provement. Ow but i think it is still few weeks till i am 100% recovered. Pray and stay positive, we can all beat this virus:)

Hello Guys,

Its been 10 months since the I was diagonsed with Bells Palsy and the first month was terrible I looked like a monster I could not eat, drink and to make things worst i was just starting at a new job !! Its been a long road and I had very bad days and others not so bad.. I have to admit Im a vain person and I was very depressed becuase I thought my face will never be back to normal, and still isn't. I took the treatment the doctor gave me, plus vitamin B12 shots, every 3 days, 1hr facial therapy. You name it I've done it. So far my recovery has been slow but people don't notice anymore.but I do . I feel a little bit of pain when I touch the corners of my nose and parts of my forehead when Im doing massages and I think this is becuase of my muscles are still swollen..

If you just started let me tell you it's going to SUCK!!! but you will get better , You will have horrible days and good days try to talk to friends i know its hard to go out but try at least been home thinking is the last thing you want to do.

I hope this was a little bit helpful.

Andres from Mexico.

It may last up to 4 months. It is extremely hard to deal with at first because of the face distortion. I had it back in 2002. take of your eye.
