Hey guys/gals,
About 4 1/2 years ago I under went surgery to get rid of an anal abcess. The first one that occured took place in right around 2002 - 2003, and it ruptured on it's own and didn't resurface until late mid 2005. It was at that time that I decided to do what had to be done. When the surgery was completed I guess it was an anal fistula that was present from my previous abcess, and once the operation was completed my Dr. told me that the chance of it happening again wasn't very probable.
The scar that I have is actually kind of sensitive anyway, but anytime I get any kind of pain or strange sensation around that area I immediately think "AH c**p! It's back" but thus far (4 - 4 1/2 years) I haven't had any reoccurance yet (and hope it stays that way!).
Is it normal for the scar itself to be quite tender? Also, would one think that even after this amount of time a reoccurance would be possible?
Thanks for the info folks!

Hi there, it's pretty normal for scar tissue to be more sensitive than the rest of your body. There's a lot of exposed nerves and that causes a greater deal of sensitivity. It is pretty much par for the course to be honest. What do you think? Had you heard of that before?
