how painful is a hemorroidectomy i am goin to have them cut out next week am so scared after readin all the stories on here.Am in agony after a bm for hours after and have to go in bath to ease it will it be any worse have trouble sittin down also x
Ally, the first week is hard but if you have had bad hemorrhoids you are used to difficulty. First take your pain medications on schedule the first few days without fail. keep ahead of the pain. take laxative and stool softeners each day. Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Try to walk a few times each day! if just pacing in your room to starEat a high fiber diet. I had a bowl of Fiber One cereal each morning and evening. Avoid foods that are hardtoo digest likcheese, red meat and chocolate. I am on Day 20. It has not been easy but I am healing and you will get through this. Taking baths or using a sitz bath are also key to recovery. I also used an ice pack wrapped in a thin towel. Hang in there....
