yesss I feel electrocuted after. it just happened to me. pain in arms all the way to wrists. No one I know if has experienced it....esp bc I said I felt electrocuted.
You are not alone, from severe acid reflux issues two days ago, and throwing up, my back, and chest are sore I feel like I did major workout! Two days later and when I have to cough I want to cry it hurts so bad. Muscles are pulled harshly when vommiting, I feel your pain! Feel better
Yes the pain seems to shoot down NY arms from the center of my chest. And hurts for some time afterwards
Wow - just happened to me again. I wonder if it could have something to do with blood pressure. For me it is chest, back and both arms. But as that pain was subsiding, it seemed to go up the back of my neck and into my head like a really intense throbbing headache
It is crazy how bad it hurts. You feel like a weirdo if someone is around. Cause you throw up and have every muscle in your chest and shoulders have exroirdinary pain. Not bad enough to call 911. In from PA. Just don't go to doctors unless I have to.
Thanks for the explanation--this had never happened to me until this morning. I followed a search on vascoconstriction to find other contributing factors--dietary specifically--high sodium, fatty foods and caffeine all contribute. Yesterday was labor Day and I left my normally nutritious diet to have burgers, brats, chips and the like--add two cups of coffee this morning and morning sickness and this is what I get--kind of a scary wake-up call to make better food choices.
A couple days ago, I aspirated part of a Frito that triggered a hour an hour of gagging and retching. It lasted long beyond the piece coming up. I got a pulling pain up both arms and across my chest. It was like I had a rubber band strung from one wrist to the other via my chest. I wasn't worried that it was heart. It felt like I had pulled something. Today it happened again when trying to have a bowel movement. It is still a burning sensation in my left wrist. I am pretty sure it will go away after time just like a pulled muscle.

I had the same thing this past weekend. It hurt so bad .My arms chest back ,head. Everything was in pain.
Be aware that your body is straining to rid itself of what is in your stomach. It is very possible to pill and strain muscles doing it. Good luck.
Wow! Did this same thing this morning so started looking for answers. I cant believe so many people have this.I threw up and felt like my lower arms into my wrists hurt so bad. It felt like it was in my veins and hurt for about 20 min. Terrible pain! I started thinking that it had to do with my heart. Its very scary! I wish someone knew what this condition is and how to prevent it!
I get the excruciating pain in my shoulders even when gagging. Today, it was sore deltoids to numb fingertips. I love the electrocuted analogy and completely agree; it's like your muscles won't work during the gag response. Sometimes changing positions can decrease the pain after the gag attack is over but nothing helps during - IF you can even move. Sounds like the RN is smarter than the doctors...
I have the same issue. It used to be only when I throw up, and now it is lasting days after and onset is triggered by any pressurization of my diaphragm, such as a cough or sneeze.
The pains radiate from deep in my shoulders, down my arms and even into my wrists. It also radiates from deep in my neck and up into my gums and into my skull. All I can do is curl my arms up to my body, hold my head and grimace with excruciating pain for minutes at a time. I am scared to cough, sneeze, and God forbid I throw up..

What you all are describing sounds like what I get only in my legs though. Immediately after I vomit, my legs get weak, throb and ache for about a good hour. I have to lay down and I feel exhausted. I had severe hyperemesis gravidarium when I was pregnant with both of my sons and that is when I first started to notice it. I vomited several times a day, everyday for about 7 months. It wiped me out and my legs would just hurt so bad. That was 13 years ago. Just happened again tonight.
I’ve had the arm pain the last couple of times I vomited but last night I also had the head pain. Hurt like heck. Why can’t this be diagnosed. Did read that it could have to do with spinal issues.
Yep. This thread is pretty old but thought I'd say the same thing happens to me. I've had stomach pain all night and just finally threw up. Now that I threw up my entire body feels like it's been hit by a truck. It's in my back, my spine, my ribs, my shoulders, arms, wrists, basically everywhere. It's bad enough that I can't sleep and wanna cry lol.
