I am 15, and I am empty on the inside. I have been through a lot. Experiencing child abuse from the age of 6 all the way till I was 13. I always felt sadness and some form of emotion. I used to self harm to try to numb the pain but I stopped last year. Now I feel nothing, I'm not complaining but I no longer have emotional responses to anything. I just say what people expect me to say. Any explanation. I'm a girl btw.
Please see a therapist. There is free help out there. There are even sites online that have professionals and just regular people that are really nice and devote their spare time to chatting with people that have all sorts of issues. Life WILL get better!
Dear Nisa,
This is a normal way to feel, but not a condition you should be content with. You have felt the lack of love in your life and the violation of your trust. We are living in a fallen world and you have felt this already at your young age. This may not seem like a privilege. I know, believe me. I also suffered abuse. But you have a loving father, your Creator, and the sooner you know Him, the sooner your soul will be soothed. He sent His son Jesus to die for the sins of man in this fallen world. This is the ultimate cure, but also seek out any friends and family you can to talk with as you are struggling. But when they let you down, you can ask God to make Himself known to you, to show you that he cares. Jesus said, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him and we will come to him and make our home with him." (John 14:23) This comes from the gospel of John.
