I have the same thing, and it's robbing me of sleep. I have no bites, jut the feeling of little bugs crawling everywhere.

I think what I have is formication, a term that describes little bugs crawling on or under skin.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formication

I don't know the treatment yet, but I will see a Doctor ASAP.

I wish I could help. We too are plagued with something. We treated for bed bugs. Threw almost everthing away. These are very tiny almost microscopic. They trickle in my hair and then down into my shirt. Awful feeling. Tried heat treament $800. Sprayed. bleached. tore out carpet. Been treated for lice. Took my dog to the vet. They continue to get all over me. now no one will help. Even boiled our clothes. dont know what they are or where they are coming from. and they bite.sprayed vehicle several times. I wish it was dry skin. If you put my jacket on you would feel them trickling around. This is horrible !!!

I'm also having that problem. Someone told me that it's from being on my lap top computer. Don't know if that's what it is. Guess I should stay off the computer for awhile to find out

I feel it too and don't believe it is bird mites. Do you feel it more in your hair? It's all over my body but more in my hair and outside the genital areas, but not restricted to them. I feel it on my face and arms as well...eyebrows too.

I started off with a horrible infected sore throat, not strep, so the doctor gave me Amoxik Clav 875-125 antibiotics which is a generic for Augmentin.  A few days later, I got a pain from the right side of my neck down to my elbow as it was hard for me to turn my head so immediately I thought it was an infection from the sore throat but nope that was not it.  Then I thought or perhaps it is, I got a stomach virus where I felt nausea, weak and hungry all at the same time. When I ate, I could not eat much but I never regurgitated. If my head was up, I felt as if my head was being pulled down and I felt better lying down. I felt as if I had pressure on my eyes or swollen but they were not swollen. My right eye had a light pink spot but the pink spot went away without any treatment. Then I got what I thought or perhaps it was a yeast infection so I used the one day Monistat dose with the external cream but my anus was also feeling like I had an infection so I used a compound medicine for that but it did not work because then I felt as if something was crawling from my anus up towards my back.  I also felt something crawling down my thigh and other parts of my body. I was not itching and I do not have ANY bite marks, sores scratches etc on my body. When I urinated, it would be a little painful because it would burn.  I did not have a heavy discharge.

I took a bath with lavender sulfur soap and put the external cream from the Monistat on my anus and vulva but that relief was temporary. Of course I had my sheets changed. The next day it appeared that my head was crawling with bugs and in the palm of my right hand I felt as if something was digging deep into my palm so every time I used the bathroom, I used the sulfur soap but still it remained. So, I put Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth on my hand to see if that would help but it did not. The Diatomaceous is supposed to fight against mites; bed bugs etc so I washed my hair with the sulfur soap and took a long bath. I added Epsom salt to the water this time and again used the sulfur soap. I washed my face with the sulfur soap and the inner ear without going into the canal and it felt as if the crawling was trying to retreat because I was covered in sulfur soap from head to toe except for the inside my nose, my eyes and inner ear where it appears it found a happy place.

After getting out of the tub, I did not immediately put the cream on my private areas because I was tending to my hair but I noticed immediately that I did not feel anything crawling on me. After I tended to my beauty needs which included putting Barlean's Organic Oils Extra Virgin Coconut Oil and NOW Foods Organic Jojoba Oil on my hair. I took two generic Benadryl and a Penicillin VK 500mg tablet. Almost my entire body was FREE from the crawling sensation.  I had it in ears, nose, tongue, back of my throat and eyes but it was not as bad. I used ear drops and the nasal spray Astepro .015% and that appeared to help but my eyes still feels a tad like pressure on them and my head still feels light but not as bad. Immediately, I got my appetite back but it was out of control as I guess it was making up for the days that I could not eat as much. My stomach did not feel as queasy as it once did but I still feel a little queasy. Four to six hours later, right before bed, I took penicillin with some milk and the generic Benadryl and slept like a baby! The next morning after I awaken, after my bowel movement and cleansing the area with a Cottonelle wipe, I added more of the cream but I can feel just a tad of crawling sensation around my anus so I took a bath with Epsom Salt, sulfur soap and a few drops of pure lavender oil. While I was adding the Epsom Salt, I notice that when I use my left hand to grab the Epsom Salt out of the bag, the nagging pain in the palm of my hand appeared to have left.  The more I moved my hand I could feel it so while in the tub, I put my palm to one of the jets in the tub and I felt whatever it was finally went away. I took the generic Benadryl prior to my bath and not the penicillin to see if it is both meds or one or the other that is helping. After my bath, I did not feel the crawling syndrome.

I took penicillin but I think the remedy is the antihistamine, the Epsom Salt and the sulfur soap. So far so good as I am THRILLED to report that I think this is working! Thank God!

I am wondering if the herbal capsule I took is the issue as this started perhaps three weeks to a month after I started the capsules. It might be a coincidence but I do not know so I am interesting in knowing if any of you that have the crawling skin condition is taking any herbal capsules? I ordered 100% Pure Manawa East Cape Manuka Oil which is supposed to better than Tree Tea Oil but I think it arrives next week as I plan to use that in my hair and perhaps other parts of my body.

I will try to keep you posted further on my recovery from the crawling skin syndrome. I believe it is either from the herbal capsules or something to do with my sinus but we shall see.

I could not get this out of my mind as I gave it much thought. I gave a lot of information because there might be other symptoms that we have in common that would hopefully shed some light on the feeling that we are experiencing. I believe that I had so many things going on at one time that one might not have had to do with the other.

I kept thinking about the Epsom Salt and what it had it that could give us a clue of the problem. After doing some research, I believe we have a Magnesium deficiency! Magnesium is a mineral that control the nerves and muscles along with other functions which explains the crawling sensation. Magnesium Sulfate is absorbed through the skin which stopped the crawling feeling so it was not the other things that I listed but the Epsom Salt itself!

Before you start taking a Magnesium supplement, please go to the link and read the important information because taking too much Magnesium can be dangerous but thus far taking Epsom Salt baths is a safe way to increase Magnesium in your body.

If you have sores etc with the crawling feeling, the Magnesium deficiency probably does not apply as you might have something else that needs to be seen by a doctor. This is for those that do not have sores or any signs of bite marks etc but those that just have the feeling only. I pray that this help because thus far this is helping me!

Dear Thedoper83, Did you ever get cured? I have. I had the exact, same symptoms. I took picutres of everything, including poop and skin. What I found is unbelievable to Americans, but not in the UK. I had worms, so I did a parasite cleanse. That helped, but I still felt crawling. With the pics, I found out I had been invaded by a cloth moth. Either the Webbing Cloth moth or the Casemaking Cloth Moth. They eat hair and love keratin, protein and vitamin B. That's what I had. If you are still suffering, take pictures and enlarge them. Doctors don't know about this stuff and will call you delusional and wont help you anymore. I use edible organic diatomacious earth fm internet and Calamine clear with Noxema or face cream on top. Take 1c salt and @ 1c vinegar baths to clean them out 2x or 3x a day. Vacuum EVERY day and throw away the bag so u don't get reinfested.

teresa, I too have had this problem. I believe it is a combination of dry skin AND small, tiny bugs. I've got them when I visit a friend who lives in a seedy part of town. I washed my clothes in really HOT water and spray Raid flea spray. Be careful w/ chemicals. Stay away from any areas you spray for a while. Don't breathe the spray. Shower often and use RID lice treatment if you have to. Keep your place clean and hopefully, they will go away. I went to my dermatologist and they tested me for dry skin, which I did have, too. However, I am certain I had some form of bugs on me and in my rooms. I think it's a form of flea larvae or skin lice. I hope this helps. When I stay away from my friend, I don't get them anymore. I had someone in my car and soon felt this sensation. It was a homeless person I actually gave a ride to. Some live in flea-infested abandoned bldgs. I now stay clear of people like that. I'm not being mean, just honest. I hope this info helps. ps. One day I cleaned my kitchen, mopped and everything. My dog was outside in the rain and mud. My sister let my dog in b4 I had a chance to bathe her and I swear to God, when my dog walked past me, it felt like a bunch of bugs jumped on me. I believe this is a flea-like parasite that is extremely tiney, yet can jump, bite, etc. ~Peace

I only get the feeling when im laying down in bed, usually things land on my face or something, stuff tries getting in my ears. I dont think im crazy because when I cover my ears, it doesnt happen anymore, like maybe it really IS some bugs.

it is no stress.  I went to the doctor and ubtil she saw the bites from these microscopic bugs she seemed to be in dis belief.  None-the-less, she had no answer.  I am in a hotel room where my clothes are infested.  i am having to daily wash clothes for the mext day wear.  It is not stress but rather some unidentified bugs...

Ever consider delusional parasitosis? It's when your mind imagines bug bites and imagines bugs under the skin, you can see bumps moving sometimes. If I am correct the red skin is a reaction to when you scratch it

Mites - either bird or rat mites and they will drive you nuts and you can't even see them!
