I wish I could say we are all stressed or have some nerve problem or deficiency, but I also have black and white specks in my hair. Everytime I do my hair, it seems they pop off me and onto my shoulders and arms. I immediately get red bumps or a small localized rash. Yesterday, I saw a black dot just below the top layer of my skin. I hate to tell anyone because I know it sounds crazy, but I look a day or two later and its not there. Like the skin flaked of and so did "it." Its not a mole as others try to convince me. If I look carefully in the rash, I can kinda make out one of these black specks in a hair follicle. I have physical evidence. When I comb my hair in the mirror these white specks fly off and onto the mirror. They are kinda shiny and pearl colored. Not like an egg sac but flat. Kinda of triangular usually like a guitar pick but very tiny. Random hairs on my head have tiny hard black specks that never move attached to the hair shaft. I know this is real. Just too small to see with the naked eye. I was freaked out when I went to brush one of my aunts hairs from her shirt, and she had the same thing attached to her hair. Had I gotten this from her or vice versa? I feel contagious. People around me itch and sneeze and cough but deny that they feel something. They ignore it as I tried but it will soon get the best of them too. I've heard rumors of biowarfare tactics. I wouldnt be surprised. I am in DC after all.

I have ANSWERS!!! I am so hapy to report this. I've had this since May 2012 and was scared it would never go away. No one would come back to these posts and tell us what really worked. I am here to share. You will need; 1. Sulfur Ointment by De La Cruz Acne Medication (10%) You can buy it in the hispanic section at Walmart or order online. You will need 1 per day. 2. Neem Oil - Organic Leaf Polish. Dyna-Grow Pure Neem Oil Organic Leaf Polish -It is 100% Natural Free of Water or Additives. 3. Washer Dryer 4. Amonia but Bleach okay with whites (but not mixed) 5. Vacuum with Bags. I bought one from Sears 6. Microcide SQ Broad Spectrum Disinfectant - Buy online 7. MSM Supplements (Walmart or online) These are natural sulfur supplments that are amazing. 8. Yogurt and anything else that boosts your immune system including Vitamin C 9. Remove all sweets from your diet. The bugs don't go after sugur but they can survive on someone with a compromised immune sytem. A serving of sugar shuts down your immune system for hours. I was eating sugar every few hours going back for a cookie here and there. I was shocked how hard it was to give this up. DO not use Bleach or Borax on your body because I ended up with severe burns on the back of my neck and nothing but skin issues. These do not work on your skin and are bad for you. Its just not worth it. And particularly - PLEASE do not put these things on your children. The other stuff, tea tree oil, clove oil, cedar oil etc. all drive the bugs crazy (you will feel a pause and then they'll be on the move) but it won't kill them and they will hold on somewhere on your body until the initial smell dies down. Then it will be business as usual. Don't waste money on these. Clove Oil was helpful in that it was soothing and a little mixed in with olive oil dabbed on my skin here and there helped cover up some of the sulfur and neem odor and was calming. Talk to your pediatrician about how to treat your children before you do anything. Even if they don't agree with your diagnosis they can help you determine if what you are doing could hurt them and possibly suggest an alternative or a better way to use the product. My daughter kept reminding me - its a skin condition. Its more then that but she's right. Its not cancer. We can get through it. The hardest thing is initial panic and then the depression from feeling like you have to stay away from everyone. You don't. This will end. . Antidepressants. They didn't cure me but adding them were very helpful. I noted a lot of people become suicidal - please go get them. I take Lexapro 20 mg. If you tell Dr. you are anxious because you have bugs crawling on you at night they will gladly give them to you. Please note that Post Partum depression can cause the feeling of bugs as well as other things - and the antidepressant will help with that. I had a family member that went through it recently - so there's nothing wrong with the possibility that it "might be in your head". It might be because we're a bunch of buzzing electrical impulses so anything's possible...- and then it might not be. Don't take it personally - just rule it out. If it doesn't help then you know its physical. I would have been sooo happy if it had just been corected with the antidepressants. I would recommend adding them temporarily no matter so you can deal with this and still go to work and live a life. If you have nerves of steel and this isn't bothering you much then God Bless you. If you can get your doctor to try two doses of Ivermectin then all the better. Start right into the treatments and cleaning I'm suggesting at the same time - except hold off on the sulfur until the next night. I found that I couldn't completely eradicate them from my body. The truth is that I could eradicate them from my body but I just kept giving them back to myself. I couldn't find a good way to clean my work, car and house without being a problem to my co-workers and family etc. I was exhausted from all the cleaning. I don't know if I will ever get up again in the morning and not put my bedding in the laundry and vacuum. I hope so but its so ingrained in me now. Steps: As soon as you can get the De La Cruz Sulfur Ointment, apply it head to toe including your scalp at night. Cut your finger nails and toe nails VERY short. (They'll grow back). Brush the sulfur ointment into the cracks and under each of the nails. If you have anything but short hair begin parting and applying to your scalp only (not on your hair). Apply like you are putting on hair color. Small sections with a comb and apply to the scalp and on to the next section. Completely cover your scalp. Rub it into your scalp a little when done. If you have short hair then just glob it on. Now begin applying sulfur to your neck, face, and move downward to the soles of your feet. Stand on a towel because they will try to move away from it and they wil drop to the floor. Because you have already treated your nails they will not hide there. When you are done roll the towell on the floor in towards the center carefully and put into the washing machine to wash on hot with bleach or amonia. You have to admit that you cannot reach every inch on your back. I didn't realize it until I added a little light food coloring so I could see everywhere I had applied the cream and I saw a large section I would have never known I had missed. Add a little color to your sulfur so you can see. I took the plastic cover from a new tooth brush I recently purchased and used the soft smooth side to apply the sulfur on my back. It worked very well. Rub in with your fingers so there is a little exfoliating after applied. Not too rough. You're going to be applying this for a few days and it can be uncomfortable. In the am get up wash it all off, shampoo and soap up with sulfur shampoo and soap (Walmart or sometimes Osco in the hispanic section - or online). Reapply the sulfur ointment from the neck down to go to work. When you get home from work apply to your scalp and face and apply a little more to the rest of your body without showering off what you had on that day. It will save you a little money. If you're smelly and greasy from work that day then shower and reapply. When your Neem Oil arrives take a sniff from the bottle to get a good idea what the night is going to smell like. It does not smell good but its not the worst thing I've ever smelled. This product is a natural pesticide and is used on the body as well for health. It is a pesticide in that it doesn't initially kill pests but it renders them sterile. Shower and then apply the Neem Oil either full strength or one time I added a little lemon soap to it to take away the edge. Apply it full body before going to bed. THe bugs will like it....I warn you. They like oil for some reason. So you will feel them and you will think this isn't working but it is working on making every one of those crawling things unable to lay eggs. I got up half way through the night, washed it and reapplyed the sulfur but you can also just leave it on all night. In a.m. make sure to immediately take your bedding to the washer and wash as hot as possible with bleach or amonia and dry in dryer for 60 minutes if possible but no less then 30. Vacuum well and immediately toss the bag into a sealed trash bag and discard into an outside trash can. Use the Sulfur the next night and the neem combination the following etc. so that you are alternating - using the Neem oil for a full total of 3 nightsand the sulfur on all others. You will start to notice that by mornings things are better. I struggled because I got to work and they were active again there. I could feel them coming up my legs and all over me and by the time I got home they were everywhere. They were in my house, work etc. I had to start over every day. Here's where the Microcide and Neem oil also play in. You have to treat your environment. I was missing this part and it is why it drag on for so long. The suggestions on the internet do not adequately treat your envionment. The Diam. Earth didn't do the job for me. I made a mixture of Neem oil for plant spraying as reflected on the bottle. I added a little lemon soap to help with smell. At Home - I sprayed the diluted mixture it all over bedding, carpet, floors and plants before leaving for the day. Its a safe oil so you can just spray it and wipe it up. At work I sprayed it all over my desk, computer keyboard tray, and particularly the carpet. I also sprayed it on the plants and in the plant dirt in my work area. Its a leaf shine - it will just make them look better. Just be careful since they aren't your plants. Don't go crazy. Focus on your carpet and chair and as much as possible your computer without breaking it. You can do it after everyone leaves at the end of the day if you don't want anyone to know you are doing this. Its not harmful. When you receive your Microcide SQ - this stuff is really the big difference. Mix it per the instructions - they will send you a spray bottle and directions. Its strong but you can use it on fabric and all surfaces. This is used in hosiptials. I used a little bit at the beginning of the day at work but when everyone left the office I sprayed this stuff everywhere and left. Focus on carpet around your desk and particularly your chair. This is where you are giving them back to yourself. When you get out of the car when you get home - spray your car thoroughly, focusing on your seats and the carpet. Take care of yourself and make sure you have fresh air. Take a walk around the block if you can. Its tempting to begin forgetting about your health with this and you need your health more then anything. When you get inside continue with your sufur/neem treatments and spray your bathroom with the microcide before going to bed. Vacuum plenty. If you can steam clean - do this before beginning to apply the neem and microcide sprays. The microcide spray might be a problem with the steam so check before combining anything. You should start seeing results quickly and I was done within a week. I didn't have luck with the DHEA or the Borox. Don't bother. If it doesn't take it away its not worth doing. Your skin might be mad at you when you're all done. THe neem should help but a good way to get your skin back into ph balance is as follows: add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to one half cup of water. Dip a cotton ball in the mixture and apply to your face before putting on lotion and make up for the day. It will make a big difference. Also, Vitamin C face cream from the health food store should be inexpensive and very helpful. MSM as noted prior is amazing at helping with inflamation and helps your skin restore itself as well as helping get rid of parasites.. Its turned out to be a pretty good product for me. Most of all - please hold your head up - please don't become suicidal - its not worth it. It will end. It will go away. You're not crazy. We don't know what this is yet but we will find out eventually. It won't hurt to tell your doctor because they need to keep hearing from us. Don't listen to everything you read. Many people have very unhealthy and bad ideas. As you run into bugs again (and you will here and there) think about where you felt them. Treat that area right away. Shower and use the sulfur that night. Also the sulfur medication might really irritate your bumps the first few nights. Hang in there - it will not hurt anymore after awhile and it will improve. My bumps went away. I stopped feeling crawling. I prayed and I still pray for you. God is good. I truly beleive that. I took time to listen to good music.

I also meant to mention - if you are just beginning to feel something here and there - then take a toothbrush and scrub it as best as possible - or try scraping it off with the edge of acredit card that you don't mind burning. (Please don't keep it). It might get rid of it and you'll be done. The next phase feels like little gnats - particularly at night. In your face, eye brows, eye lashes, nose ears etc. They are coming from your nose most lkely. Put the Sulfur Ointment just inside the nose and rub it around on the inner skin (just barely inside - not far up in there). You will probably find relief with this. This you can do during the day at work with no one knowing the difference. Next stage - they crawl. Each stage a little bigger. For some reason I always had one hanging out in my private areas and it felt kind of like it kept wiggling. Put a little clove oil mixed with olive oil on a cotton ball and place in this area under your undies for the night. That is a area thats harder to get but you need to include ALL areas in your treatment including the but crack. ' I also got a small childs microscope at Walgreens and did my own scrapings. They looked like little wormy things, Not at all what I expected. Try it yourself but make sure your slides don't already have samples on them. Make sure you bag and seal your slides. They will be empty in the a.m.

You need a few more pieces of the puzzle and they are not expensive. Let me know if you don't find my post - its detailed. I HAVE ANSWERS and I'm not selling anything.

Hey ItchiNikkiDC, I know the condition about which you posted and there are several things you can do to get better. First of all, it's a cloth moth larvae. It's in the Bible, Isaiah 51:8 and the worm [cloth moth worm in the Hebrew] shall eat them like wool. The cure is long-term, but you will get better. Google alkaline foods and start eating them. Acidic foods make us susceptible to all types of parasites and diseases. You will feel better and look better. Second, get a parasite cleanse from your health food store or the internet. Use the cleanse until you are free from the bugs. I don't know how long it will take. I'm on my second parasite cleanse. I've had the same condition for one year and have been using the parasite cleanse for 2 months. While you're at the health food store, look for Citrasolv. It's pure citrus. The bugs hate it. Get some peppermint oil, too. The bugs hate peppermint on the skin. Go to your local store [Walmart is good] and get some Selsum blue [or off brand] and put a dab or two of the peppermint oil in it. Get some Vaseline, Noxzema, Eucerin Advanced healing therapy ointment [or Equate]. I put Citrasolv in my Noxzema and my ointment. Then go to the air freshener section and get some citrus air freshener. It's pure citrus in a spray. You can spray your furniture and bedding with that. Start drinking apple and lemon juice along with any other type of fruit or juice you like. But apple and lemon juice will save you a lot of the troubles I've had when I didn't know what to do. If you want to get better really fast, take a 7 day vacation and put vaseline all over your body and leave it on for 7 days straight. Keep applying and wait. It's okay to wear the same clothes if you choose this treatment. Two people have done this and are cured. If you choose the long-term treatment, like, if you have to go to work, never wear any clothes twice. Wash with bleach or lysol or pinesol, if you can stand the smell. Dry the clothes too much and make sure there are no lint balls on them. Store your clean clothes in a bin or a bag to protect them from reinfestation. Google clothes moths and check your house for any signs of an infestation. I had two furs from my mother I never wore. I had to get rid of them. The cloth moth molts 45 times before it matures and lives for 2 1/2 years before it matures. You could possibly have internal parasites, but not necessarily. The parasite cleanse will take care of anything on the inside or in your skin. You don't have to shave your head or cut your hair. I still have very long hair. The next very important step is cleaning. Vacuum every day. You may want to do spring cleaning all over in drawers, closets and everywhere. Use clean bed linens every night. Some people go the extra mile and get rid of their bed and buy an air mattress. My husband won't allow that, so I just work harder. Check all over your furniture and house for any signs of the stuff falling from your hair. Lint balls and small sticks is a sure sign. I cleaned, vacuumed and sprayed my furniture with the citrus spray. There are other considerations like bed bugs and other bugs, but cleaning and using products is a good start. I look much younger now and my skin is so much better. Drink a lot of water in your journey and, every day, look in the mirror and smile, because you will get better. Also, you may want to Facebook morgellons and look for the Squidoo invisible bugs site. There is a lot of support there. If you start treatment with the parasite cleanse, you may be better in a year and won't have to suffer so long like I am still suffering. Some have suffered for many years. Gayle

I live in NY.  A few days after hurricane Sandy hit, I started to wake up with what looked like bug bites on my arms.  I thought it might have been bed bugs.  I searched for them on my mattress, wall, furniture, but I didn't find any.  Then I thought maybe it was just allergies.  That notion went away when I started feeling bugs crawling on me at night.  At first, I felt it on my armpits. I got up to search the terms "feel bugs crawling on me" on my laptop, and this website that was a forum for bird mites kept coming up.  It made sense too because I brought this bird feeder I had in my backyard and left it in the laundry room so it wouldn't get damaged during the hurricane.  I called an exterminator that specialized in treating bird mites.  However, he said he wouldn't be able to come for a few days.

In the meantime, I was in hell.  I dreaded going to bed.  As soon as the lights went out, I could feel them crawling up my calves, thighs, groin, abdomen, armpits, ears, face, and scalp.  I couldn't sleep.  I was exhausted.  I was doing laundry everyday.....separating clean laundry from dirty laundry in sealed plastic bags, washing on high heat.  I threw away the bird feeder.  I swept and mopped with borax, sprayed the apartment with a water and light chlorine solution, showered twice daily with a loofah and epsom salt, borax and a vinegar and water solution for my hair.  I usually slept a little better after that.

I was at Home Depot, the pharmacy and the dollar store buying stuff to battle these critters (lint roller for the sofa and mattress, swim goggles, ear plugs, shower caps, latex gloves, and even a painter's suit! Deodorant with Aluminum Hydrochloride, spray bottles, bug repellent, glue boards to catch specimens, duct tape to apply wherever I felt them crawling on me, caulk to plug up walls, fabric softener sheets to wear under my shower cap at night to repel bugs, bath oil, miticides, plastic covering for the sofa and a bed bug barrier for the mattress).  All stuff this website said to buy.  I spent a mini fortune.  Still, at night, I was lucky to get three hours sleep.  I went to the doctor to get a prescription for Permethrin, but that didn't seem to do anything.

The curious thing is that I only found one bug feeding on my arm in all that time.  It looked like a piece of white lint at first.  When I went to wipe it off, it didn't budge.  i swiped at it again.  It still didn't come off.  I pulled it off, crushed it and threw it out.  I should have saved it on a piece of scotch tape.

My poor pregnant fiance was in hell with me.  (Interestingly, she was not getting any bites, and did not feel bugs crawling on her), thank God.  I started feeling better when I applied tea tree oil to my skin one night.  It smells very strong, but I didn't feel the bugs that bad.  I wish I would have done it sooner.

When the exterminator finally came, he looked at the glue boards and said I had a body louse.  I was a bit relieved, but also a bit shocked.  Although body lice are much easier to get rid of than bird mites, the symptoms matched up to bird mites more.  Than again, I only caught two samples of tiny bugs in the bathroom that I thought were bird mites.  Everything else I trapped, the exterminator said was just dirt and lint.  He showed me the body lice with his magnifier.  I'm not sure if he looked at the two tiny bugs I caught in the bathroom.

It's been a few weeks now.  The itching is gone, as is the crawling bug sensation.  I get itchy when I think about it, though.  For some reason, I wasn't totally convinced it was body lice because some symptoms didn't add up.  If body lice are so contagious, then why didn't my fiance get them? (Not that I wanted her to, mind you).   It could be that bugs like me better than my fiance.  In the summer, mosquitos go after me, not her, LOL!   Also, if body lice live in the seams of clothing, and I was washing my clothes and sheets everyday, then they should have died.  I guess they were between the sheets and the bed bug barrier on my mattress.

I guess the moral of the story is, set out glue boards, find out what you trap, and show that to your exterminator/entomologist.  That would have saved me a lot of trouble.

A few updates - although the sulfur and neem oil have worked - I found I've been able to rid myself of these at home but I continue to have them at work. I then have to get rid of them when I get home and it starts again the next morning at work. I can share what is working at home because I have gotten rid of them there - but the infestation seems to have begun and continue at work. I was looking for a much faster "kill" at home so I could have some peace and was able to find one. I'm finding what is working even better then the sulfur is to mix 1/2 body powder with 1/2 Diam. Earth (use food grade) and apply at night. It has to be the right mix so that you don't hurt your skin. I keep a toothbrush in the bed with me and where-ever I feel crawling I brush in a circular motion there and it seems to kill them...the crawling stops. Circular kills but straight brush strokes do not. The Oil of Olay face spinning brush also works. As soon as I lay down - I clean my legs from work because I am pretty much infested by the time I get home, I slowly brush the entire lower part of my leg all around and then the upper part until I get every inch. This stops them. I've also started putting diam. earth across my bed by my feet at night and it seems to help. The carpet seems to be a big problem area. I took a scrub brush and ground in diam. earth into every square inch of the carpet and left it there. The key seems to be to leave it on and to make sure it is in all the fibers. There is something called a "groom" that is like a rake and you can use it to grind it into the carpet which is what I used at work for a quick applicaiton. I'm also finding I can put the powder combination on my scalp and rub it in without any problems and can wear that during the day to work. I have blonde hair so it doesn't show at all. This will knock them out within a short time at home. The only other area is your nose and possibly ears. The only solution to your nose is the Sulfur Acne product 10%. Put it in along the edges and then pinch your nose whenever you feel crawling. This scratchy acne product will take out your nose population and should also be applied in your ears and eyebrows. This will clear up your face. At work - I've tried replacing the carpet, applied borax and flea powder ground into the carpet (around my desk), We've removed the plants and none of those things have worked. I just ground only the diam. earth into the carpet at work and will be off 11 days so maybe that will help. The cleaning company vacuums everynight so I had to put up a sign that says to not vacuum around my desk so I can keep the diam. earth down long enough to work. At least I am getting a good nights sleep now that I have learned to be free of them at home. Grinding in the diam. earth into the carpet is so important. I was also able to dust my keyboard with the powder combination so it went into all the cracks and doesn't seem to have caused any problem. The clothes and bedding washing on hot and 30-60 minutes of drying is important. Occassionally washing your bed cover also helps. When I get home I toss my coat immediately into the dryer for 30 minutes and follow that with my pillow. All sheets and bedding are washed daily. Keep your bedding light. I bought a small heater to put near my bed so I didn't require more then one small blanket. Good luck to you. I wish I had known this info 6 months ago. Make sure you clear all areas..I'm working on that.

O.K. I suffered through this same thing for years. Washing sheets and clothes every day, taking apple cider vinegar baths to soothe the itching  etc.. I felt like bugs were crawling on me, and in my hair, mainly at night. I went to the doctor and he treated me for a rash, and that didn't work. He sent me to a specialist and even though they could see the bumps on my back, they sent samples away only to come back inconclusive. Nothing worked. I went to the emergency room a few times, the itching just got that bad, and where else do you have to go? Anyway after about 2 1/2 years the itching went away.

My middle daugther moved in with me in November of 2011 and began to get depressed. She hinted at a cat, so naturally I broke down and went to the animal shelter and got her a nice black little people cat, that would lay draped in your arms all day. Well, to make a long story short, the next day after getting the cat, I began to itch again. I went to my doctor and told him about the itching and the cat. He gave me antibiotics, steroids, and something for itching, all due too allergies, and it worked. I must have grown into the allergy because I never had itching when I was younger, but anyway, the neighbor had a cat that I would pet every so often , so that kept it going I suppose.

Anyway, after years of itching from unseen bugs, treating me for allergies worked. I hope some of you can find relief this way.

I have proof now that the crawling sensation is the cloth moth worm. I took a bath and was blow drying my body and saw something white come out on my skin. I took a picture. If you can enlarge the pictures with your zoom on the top right of your computer, you can see the red hole the moth came out of.Isaiah 51:8 for the moth shall eat them up like a garment and the worm shall eat them like wool.http :// www. flickr.com/photos/84013597@N08/

I am still bug free! The Sulfur treatment (can take up to a month) and then Shell Flour ground into carpet and mixed 1/2 and 1/2 with body powder for body application has worked. After having this since June I am finally and fully free. I went back to work after 11 days and am no longer getting it from my environment there - having left the shell flour ground into the carpet under and around my desk for the time and asking the cleaning people to not vacuum around or under my desk. I truly felt in my heart God share "My way is not hidden from you". And He is so right. Its simple and not hidden from any of us. There is an answer to the invisible bug problem. See prior posts for details.

Next time at Walmart or Walgreens pick up something that is working good for me ongoing: "Yes" products - grapefruit daily wipes. Try to keep everything in the citrus family vs. sweet smelling. The other thing is that they are coming from your nose and hair. Pick up the Sulfur Acne ointment from Walmart or order online and apply just inside your nose, in your eyebrows, in your hair at night and on your face (face for at least a few nights). Catch them now before this grows. Wash your sheets and blankets daily on hot water and dry for over 30 minutes. Get a bed bug protection mattress and pillow pad and toss your pillow in the dryer every day before using for 30 or more minutes. Remember - dry and non-sweet works. Especially the Del Mar Acne Sulfur in the jar (10% Sulfur). Don't wait - that's how mine started and they begin to grow exponentially.
