I would consider Hypoglycemia as a possible cause. Especially concerning the symptoms of being tired and inability to focus. Hypoglycemia often goes undiagnosed. There are Glucose tablets that you can buy over the counter at many pharmecies now and I would recomend just trying them out, when you feel tired or irritable. People without the condition can take the tablets with no side effects, so it would be a case of elimination. My husband often experienced stomach problems and pain after eating. This wasn't a direct symptom of Hypoglycemia, but I tend to think that if you're intestines aren't getting certain nutrients from the foods you're eating there can be issues with digestion. Look up the condition on google and follow the dietary advise they have, keep a food diary and write down when your symptoms occur and what you ate. P.S. try to avoid anything with High Fructose Corn Syrup....which could be difficult because they put it in just about everything these days, right down to tomato sauce and bread! But anyways, good luck!

i have all the same symptoms. i have been tested for all of the formentioned suggestions and none of them are to blame. i have changed diet habits and nothing. i have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia but it doesnt have anything to do with stomach problems. the wierd thing is, is that i too have taken a lowdose of opiate and feel better for awhile. i also have hot and cold flashes and night sweats. i am a 28 year old female and im not pregnant. i remain nauseas most of the time, but i do have days where i feel fine until i eat. i have given up and so has my doctor. she will not give me anything more for nausea bc there is no proof that something is actually wrong with me.  HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

Regarding all the stomach pain / getting sick after eating:

When I was 18, it happened to me, in 3 days I lost 18lbs and began bleeding internally.  I went and saw a gastroenterologist whom immediately put me in the hospital.  It took a week of tests before they discovered I had ulcerative colitis.

I should also mention that my mom has Thyroid disease and gets sick after eating just about anything, so both should be considered when dealing with this sort of issue, as is Crohn's disease (similar to colitis)

Last thing I'd like to mention:

Dr's had me on a very strict diet, no green leafy vegetables, no skin on fruit, no citric acids, no dairy, no seeds.... I was also on strong dosages of Asacol and Prednisone to combat the colitis.  I was supposed to be on the meds for 6 weeks then get weened off, but I always got sick and had to go back on the meds.  I was on them for over 6 years and was dealing with over 70 side effects!  (Some of which I am still dealing with!)

After a while the meds weren't effective anymore and the Dr's said I needed both my colon and large intestine removed, instead my mother took me to see a homeopathic practitioner.   I was not a believer in any way shape or form.  She told me that I was severely malnourished because of the diet the Dr's had me on and she started me on this heavy herbal treatment... a disgusting tea and other things... but I did it and after 2 months, I was off of all 14 pills I was supposed to be until the day I died.  A couple months later I was back to working full time and a couple months after that, back in school full time.

It's been 15 years since then.  I eat whatever I want, salads, ice cream, fruit, spicy food... nothing bothers me... (stress does...) but not foods.  I rarely have relapses, but when I do, I just go back on the herbs for a couple months and I'm back in remission.

I can't promise this will work for everyone or that it is a cure for any illness, but I praise it infinitely because it has given me my life back and when you are so sick... it's certainly a viable option to having your organs removed!

FOUND THE ANSWER!!!!I too had the same exact problem of feeling sick after eating anything for months now and I was getting really depressed about it. I've finally managed to figure out what it was even after consulting with numerous doctors and specialists who had no clue what it was!About 3 months ago I came down with an infected tooth which was in need of a root canal. This has actually been coming on for years but I have delayed and delayed, just taking ibuprofen whenever the pain was too much. Then 3 months ago I could not take it any more so I saw my dentist and he put me on an antibiotic for 10 days. I had 3 attempts over the course of about 8 weeks at my dentist to have the procedure done but I could not go through with it due to the severity of the pain and lack of my dentists ability to numb the area. I guess I just have a complex nerve structure under this tooth. So I scheduled a 4 visit to undergo general anesthesia. All of this means I was on antibiotic for nearly 3 months!!! Taking that along with a combination of 800mg ibuprofen every few days entirely and completely destroyed all of the endothelial cells lining my stomach. Endothelial cells are where the good bacteria live (probiotics) that keep foreign substances out of the blood stream. Since I had none, I was exposing my body to vast amounts of toxins and other nastiness. Despite seeing doctors and specialists they could not figure out what was wrong with me and even suggested it might be psychological related to stress.I had a hunch after watching some short videos from Dr. Michael Greger , that maybe I was dealing with a condition where I had no probiotics left in my system. I went out and bought some organic kimchee and although the taste is not great but not horrible, I ate about 8 to 10 forkfuls each day for about a week. It was about then that I witnessed my first dramatic recovery because I went a whole day without feeling sick to my stomach and I was able to eat normal food. Same thing today. I am on my way out to buy more organic kimchee from Whole Foods so I can keep this going.Good luck to anyone who is dealing with a similar condition and try this, it might work and cannot hurt you!Cheers!! Jim

... HelpMeFeelBetter ...

There are many of us with these same conditions that traditional western medicine has turned a blind eye too.  Basically doctors have been trained to not treat you for a condition unless an organ fails enough to go complete off of testing charts.  Until it fails nearly completely, you are still within "NORMAL RANGE".   I don't have all the answers myself but I've been actively searching on my own for a while.  For me the problems are thyroid and intestinal which can increase with severity with food tollerances (such as Lactos intolerance, All Soy products and possibly Gluten), but it also can cause problems with gal bladder and insuline resistance.   These organs all all connected and inter-dependent on each other to function properly which is why the symptoms can be many.  Below are my most useful information I've come accross consistantly:

* Don't Eat ANY Soy Products

.* If you have asthma - do not take Prednisone it can damange your intestines

* Have Your Vita D Tested.

* Check out " Lizzy's Story" and If you can relate to this... Then buy the below book.

* Paperback " Why Do I Still Have Thyroid Symptoms?  When my lab tests are normal "  By Datis Kharrazian

If any of you can elaborate on this or give me a push in the right direction - It would be appreciated!

I know for a fact that it is not hypothyroidism. I myself have hypothyroidism and none of the symptoms you are having or have had are anything related to hypothyroidism.

wow I think you aren't listening to these people, They feel sick no matter what they eat. THEY AREN;T ADDICTS, They are people desperately seeking help because they can't get help from their doctors. The typical ( I don't know whats wrong with you so go / or try this anyway) treatment. It is not nice to feel sick no matter what you eat. Symptoms are many, much like a lot of these people. My daughter has suffered since 10 yrs old almost 21 now. Many "attacks" I call them and many emergency room visits because of the excruciating stomach pain. WE are still undiagnosed and still searching for answers and help. Sounds to me like your just trying to drum up business. These people are looking for help NOT rehab SERIOUSLY You couldn't possibly understand something especially when you have no clue what your talking about,

I have some of the same symptoms. I was researching on it myself on the Internet that brought me here. I myself am a doctor from another country, a subspecialist. Internal Medicine was part of my training, and I would say, this kind of health problem we never discussed in medical school nor did I encounter it from other patients in my years of training and short practice (5 years). I have been through different doctors here in the US myself. I never told them I am a doctor. They also do not know what the problem is. That is why I do the research myself. I have been checked for Celiac disease, and it was negative. I checked myself for hypoglycemia, pre-meal, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, one hour, two hour, three hour post meal and I am not hypoglycemic nor diabetic. I have no other symptoms that may relate this to Dumping syndrome. I am now looking into the possibility of tyramine intolerance because I have palpitations, too, or food allergy to whatever substance, maybe wheat, barley malt, etc.
