Hi, how are you?I'm emailing you guys today because I am an 18 year old gay male. Yesterday was my first time ever having anal sex. The guy promised me he didn't have anything but now I'm starting to think otherwise. Before he even came I started preparing for intercourse. I saw this blog online that says to always "douche" before anal sex. Of course I didn't have any supplies to clean so I look up home remedies for douching. I came across yet another blog that said a WATER BOTTLE would do the trick. I was a little skeptical but feel as if I didn't have any other choice since he was on his way. So I filled the water bottle to the top and attempted to insert it into my anus. It hurt like crazy but it provided results. After every squeeze I had to run to the bathroom and take a '#2'. It came out like diarrhea and when I would wipe I would get 1 or 2 tiny red drops on the tissue. After 5 times of repeating the process I was all cleaned out. Maybe an hour later he arrived. First we proceeded in oral then he put the condom on and we started having intercourse. Before he was done he took the condom of without me knowing and continued. After about 3-5 strokes I knew and immediately told him to stop. No sperm went inside of me because later on he ejaculated on the floor.. I experienced mild pain for the next 7-8 hours or so but I expected it because what I had done with the water bottle and being that it was my first time ever having intercouse with the same sex. Also my first time having anything big like that in my anus. Fast forward to the next day (which is today) I'm noticing a pea sized bump on the hole of my outer anus. There's seems to be either pus or something white like its an open wound but no blood. I'm itching in different areas. (not sure if it has anything to do with this) and I have been experiencing a high-like feeling when I walk. (Not sure if its because in scared, or because my house is scorching hot.) I put some hydrocortisone cream on it and people tell me to take a bath filled with Epsom Salt. About 2 hours later I experienced a mild headache. BUT it wasn't any old headache, I felt like I was high or something. Couldn't really focus on anything nor concentrate. I took two headache pills (Alleve) and shortly after I was sleeping. Once I woke up the headache was gone but I still couldn't concentrate. My parents; whom didn't know I had sex with a male, told me maybe its because I don't drink enough water. (Which I don't) so immediately once I got home I drank two bottles of water. Slowly but surely I've been able to concentrate. As for the lump on my anus, I no longer experience pain because I've put the hydrocortizone cream on it earlier today. Im now starting to wonder if the headache saga came from stressing or is it signs of HIV. A doctor whom I called told me if it repeats within 72 hours seek help but before I proceed in taking that step I just want someone to tell me is this symptoms of HIV and/or any other sexual disease. And/or this just a result of an anal fissure or hemorrhoid and I have nothing to worry about? Please let me know. Thank you

Hi Fast,

It's too early to tell if it is HIV.  Your symptoms are non-specific.  Usually the first sign is "flu-like" symtpoms with 1-2 weeks after exposure.  If you do want to get tested the standard protocol is:

1.  Test at exposure, to see if you are already HIV+.

2.  Test at 30 days.

3.  Test at 60 days.  If this test is NEGATIVE it is very unlikely that you are HIV+

4.  Test at 90 days.  This confirms the above.

Other STD's can present symtpoms early - such as herpes.  The itching and headache are common to that.

The lump could be ANYTHING.  It may be from the water bottle, anal sex, a hemorrhoid, you'd need an exam to know.

Hope it helps.
