I have a rash/fungus for 4 yrs now. started out as a dry spot on my forehead; then progressed to small red bumps with no fluid in them; they then progress and flatten and become wide and cover my entire forehad.it does itch extremely;is dry and flaky. it goes through the layers of skin on my forehead & front hairlline and has gone to the flesh on 3 occassions, it is raised around my eyebrow area only and is in back and inside my outer ears also it leaves my forehead with the appearance of very lightness in color.i was told by my dr. to use clotrimazole which did'nt work; was also prescribed fluconazole which seemed to make it go away but once the medication was out it immediately came right back.was prescribed steroids which made it go away for a month then it returned.it has caused permanent baldness in my frontal hairline ! please help if any one can. desperate for help. i walk and talk with my head down to try to hide it from people. :'(
I hope that you have found answers by now. I would like to suggest that you see a dermatologist rather than a general family practice doctor, if you have not already. Your case needs a specialist. I know the embarrassment that it can cause. I used to have really bad scalp issues. I am a head sweater. At one point the eczema spread down into my ears. It was horrible. There are lots of new treatments for skin issues now a days. Don't stop asking until you get answers. Try a second opinion if you are seeing a dermatologist. I hope that you are feeling better by now.
