I have a problem of peeling the skin around my fingernails. I try to stop, but subcontiosly start again. I have had this problem for many years. It seems to come near cold weather. Is it nerves or a medically treatable condition? I also suffer from Bi-polar depression, high anxiety and mental stress. :'(
Hi
i think that it could well be a your anxiety causing you to do this,im not sure if the cold weather is causing your fingers to be slightly dry attracting you to peel at them or if indeed the cold winter is something you react to bearing in mind the condition (SAD).I think that a good idea would be to mention it to your doctor as it must be painful and could end up causing an infection if say you pick a bit too much,a trip to the doctor may ease your stress once you have spoke about this issue. Also try differing methods of relaxation or stress relief,i hope all goes well :-D
